Well..kind of.

Is a huge fan of the "Halflife" computer game series, and has considered posibilites of directing a movie adaptation.

Now, this may only be a passing mention. But come on! That's got me salivating about the possibility of a Tarantino-directed Half-Life picture. That would be so cool. :D

tarantino would be a bad choice IMHO ..he's all about character development and is better suited to film noir type gritty films rather than sci-fi movies

robert rodriguez would do a far better job of the whole affair, i mean, he knows action better than tarantino, imo

ummm I'm not too sure about that ...I think Ridley scott would be a good choice ...as long as he kept faithful to the source material ..and modeled it after his best film: Blade Runner ..his style suits HL better than either rodrigues or tarantine ....again just my HO

Yarr, Ridley Scott would do an excellent job as well. I'd just be interested to see how Tarantino would do a Half-Life movie. It'd certainly be interesting, if nothing else.

"Now listen here Dr. Kleiner, the gut is the worst place to get shot but it takes a long time to die from it!"

It would be pretty cool to see him do an HL movie.

that's actually a good point, i hadn;t even thought about him... indeed, a good choice, just so long as Uwe Boll didn;t get it i'd be happy

No to Ridley Scott. He'd probably cast Orlando Bloom as Gordon Freeman.

I've lost faith in directors nowadays. I'm more interested in who the cast are. There are plenty of people that can point a camera in nice directions.

Isn't robert rodriguez the guy who named his son "rocket"?

he made the best choice in Harrison Ford as Deckard and Rutger Hauer as Roy Batty ...I couldnt see him choosing a pretty boy over a real actor

Ridley creates believeable realistic future worlds: Alien and Bladerunner

agreed.
all these directors are good and stuff but Ridley Scott would (i think) best suit the HL universe and actually do some justice to it.

Michael Bay ftw! :O
before The Island I would've scoffed and called you inbred and stupid... but now, with a few more films focusing on story and caring more about characters and characterization, I think he'd be ready, so give him about 10 years so long as he keeps making good choices and he'd be ready to handle HL2

tarantino couldn't do hallife....because in tarantino films there's a lot of talking, but gordon freeman....

Ridley Scott or James Cameron though the chances are slim. Robin Williams is also a big Half-Life fan, he visited VALVe's booth at both e3 2003 and 2004 I think, he also mentioned the game on Conan I think it was. So if there was a movie adaptation you could bet he'd be angling for a part : o.

Whether that's a good or bad thing is for you to decide.

I wouldn't like to see Tarantino do a Half-Life movie, because it would be a waste of his talent. Regardless of how faithful it was to the original material, I'm sure a Tarantino version would be far better than any of the other directors listed in this thread, however I would much rather see an original Tarantino screenplay (such as the upcoming Inglorious Bastards).

If QT did a Half-Life movie, chances are it would be hardly recognizable. Though I'm sure he'd make it great, it'd be better suited in the hands of one of the more commercial directors (such as Ridley Scott, I guess).

No he isn't, all he cares about is drugs, sex, violence and gore, and that's it.

have you watched Jackie brown? that was all character development ..and there's nothing wrong with sex drugs and rock and roll ...in moderation of course :)

Anyone's better than Uwe-****ing-Boll.

And if Tarantino's a true fan, I wouldn't worry- he wouldn't let his usual trends get in the way of the film.

I think Spielberg would be the best man for the job, personally. Perhaps written by Taratino... all the Black Mesa guards would be bad ass.

heroin shooting corrupt soldiers fighting terrifying demons from hell with flagrant profanity

Instead of a movie with Gordon starring, I rather see a movie focusing on a different non x-Pack character, with passing by cameos and mentioned names of important characters in Half Life. Or it could be done by several different viewpoints (Grunt, Black Op, Scientist, Security Guard, Vortigaunt?)

I'm pretty sure that thats a remake of an older movie...

Robert Rodrigiez? YELCH!!! He directed so many gay movies! Shit boy and Lard Girl, Slut Kids 3d!!! Really we dont want a G rated movie that has a M game to it, And we dont want to see his so called TALENTS!!!

As long as Quentin Tarantino could work in Uma Thurman and/or Samuel L. Jackson... I'd watch it.

Im still not convinced that a hl2 movie would suck - the plot is so much above all the other games that are being made into movies = has great potential that would please everyone.

I dont know which director would be the best, but i can already imagine it on the big screen just blowing everyones minds away.

if tarantino say that he is a fan of the game then maybe he can make a very good movie cuz he is a fan sure he played the game

so I will prefer the movie directed by a fan of the game that even its not it style.....that a famous director that dont know nothing about the game

Samuel L. Jackson: "What ain't no planet I ever heard of, they speak English on what?"

Vortigaunt: "?"

Samuel L. Jackson: "ENGLISH MOTHER****ER DO YOU SPEAK IT?!"

:E

hey, ummm... were you one of the 2 people that missed Sin City? cause while he's made kids movies, i hardly think Sin City was meant for kids, unless you want your kids to be f*cked up in the head

Without fail, every game that was made into a movie has sucked. Are you guys that eager to see the monstrosity of a half life movie?

Originality is dead, long live the spin-off.

No ... not at all. He just used the title from a relatively obscure foreign film. Similar to how all of his other movies have a lot of blatant references to other movies. The plot is much more similar to the Dirty Dozen than the old Inglorious Bastards (which was just it's release name in the US).

the guy who did 12 monkeys would be great, the sci-fi parts are sci-fi, but the real world stays real.
