Quite recently a video was found in the URL of the 119th TF2 update page. You can go ahead and see the video here. Pretty exciting to see the new video, could the welder possibly be an alternate weapon?[br]With the imminent release of the Engineer Update Valve has also released a quick TF2 patch. In the new patch they have adjusted the cutoff date for the badges to the official release of Team Fortress 2. Some of the more notable changes:[br]
  • Mann Co. badges updated
    • Added new "Primeval Warrior" employee badge
    • Moved badges start date to the official TF2 release date of October 10th, 2007
    • Gave "Primeval Warrior" badge to anyone who played in the TF2 Beta prior to the official release
    • Adjusted existing badges based on the new start date
  • [br] The entire update list can be seen here.

Robot suit, calling it now.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHN SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTT

I want that primeval warrior badge, but I'm pretty sure I didn't play the beta on my own account. Too long ago, can't remember. Primeval warrior badge kinda looks like the pendant from Lunar: Silver Star Story, which will make one of my friends who did play the beta on his account really, really happy.

Also cool, Valve made a prophunt update. Prophunt is best way to play TF2.

I think I'm getting the primeval badge.
This thing just keeps getting better and better.

Yep, I was hoping to get something special for playing it the first 'unofficial' hour. Now it's a reality. Hurray!
Wondered when somebody was going to post this. I wouldn't have thought anybody else would be browsing the
bottom of the 119th page again, but I was only doing it for saving snapshots. :p

Awesome, man. Where did you find that? Did you or whoever got it guess the link or was it hinted somewhere?

Maybe the engy will build bots.

Actually that'd be kinda cool...

Autonomous movement level one turret?

"It's your turn"? Does this mean Valve wants us to make the engy items? Maybe the chicken cannon will be real after all.

"It's your turn"

I was almost expecting an empty form to come up on the screen "Give us some ideas!"

EDIT: Robot Suit is a dumb idea imo

Aw. I pre-ordered the orange box off a website so I had it pre-ordered only registered it after it was out D:

Oh well.

my guess is a not so smart attack bot you can control but you cant attack while controling it

I want an engie hat with a small flamethrower turret for taking out those pesky spies

I really hope they buff the engie against spies. Something like a noise activated AOE flame turret. Build the turret and then go around the corner and build the fuel tank.

Am I right in thinking the xbox users haven't receievd all the various content since it began.

Given that Mac release of steam is due for the 12th, can we assume the engi update will be around this time, perhaps there will be an engi easter egg consisting of the earliest apple computers

As a replacement for the sentry gun, some sort of spy booby trap

"It's your turn" could just be referring to the Engineer finally getting his update, but who knows, until Valve starts revealing the update everything is just speculation.

Probably the most reasonable newbie I've seen.

My vote isn't for it in terms of us ever seeing it, but I like the idea of engineer-built mobile AI-bots the best so far. Especially if these bots would do something ridiculous or unavailable to other classes. I'm thinking... smarter Bioshock hacked-bots style. Maybe a little less shooty, maybe moreso, depending on how many you can build. **** it, I want my Engy to be a Protoss carrier. I want a swarm of nanobots to fly out of his nipples and rip exploding scotsmen to shreds.

I have my doubts about any mobile, AI controlled pets for the Engineer. There are a helluva lot of variables with such a thing, and even if they did add a robot, what exactly would it do? What niche would it fill? Would it follow the Engineer around or would it do it's own thing? How will it navigate terrain? How will it behave on custom maps?

Personally I think it just seems too far-fetched, but if it is the case, and the Engineer gets a robot, I'm fairly certain Valve will know how to implement it properly.

We already have AI-controlled players in matches. It wouldn't be hard for them to dumb it down so they're not too OP. I could see an entire team of engineers making an entire team of AI players, and then technically having double the people, even if half of them are engies.

There are problems.

One thing that we need is makeshift barricades, either to slow down an advance or provide cover for allies
