Valve has posted Team Fortress 2 stats gathered from PC matches from Dec 1 to Dec 8, including points earned per class, damage dealt per weapon, total time played per class, death maps etc.. [br]

You can check the stats here.

Lol, the medics suck. Most amount damage dealt is the crit happy soldier. The most played/longest living class is the engineer yet they get crap for points.

The death maps are really cool. It's pretty awesome what they did with all that data.

Medics don't suck, see their assists ...
Weird that they have so short lives tough, its rather easy to stay alive longer as a medic since you are not in the front line, the guy you are healing is, and when he dies the medic can retreat and heal another player.

Also I have some doubts with those death maps really,
on maps like dustbowl there generally much more death around the spawn area then on the actual capture point on the servers where I play.
Same goes for hydro, there are some bottlenecks there what generate lots of deaths, yet the map says the mayority of deaths takes place on th capture point what makes little sence to me.
The capture points should instead show lesser deaths since usually its over if a player can actually reach the capture point.

But well why would Valve fake or edit those maps, so it just doesn't make much sence to me.

Maybe if there were separate maps for eatch set of objectives it would look different since it all overlaps now.

It's so clear, they must be in cahoots with the FBI & the Bavarian illumanti. I suspect that right now the gateway is being opened and Cthulhu and his unspeakable minions will be upon us in no time..***n to the hills lest their hideous visages drive you out of your minds :dozey:

I'm suprised the Medic ranked so low in points. Im always 1st/2nd as Medic :/

The map doesn't say the majority of the people are dying there. It just means a lot of people are dying in a rather small place. The bottlenecks do have their kills but it's harder to notice because the kills are spread around the entire bottleneck.
Also, in maps like Hydro, some capture points are used in multiple map configurations where as the bottlenecks are not.
That's my 2 cents.

When I see a Medic/Heavy-Combo (or any other than heavy, doesn't matter), I'll always go for the medic first, and I see alot people doing that. Mostly after finishing off the medic I get owned by that minigun though.

It's interesting to see how all the melee weapons produce the most one-hit-kills of sorts, and then the graph drops off to the guns, long range, etc...

Kickass, love Valve for releasing this information.

Sentry Gun is missing from weapon stats... how disappointing. I usually play engineer and sentries are what get me a lot of kills.

Otherwise, cool stuff!

I was most surprised to see that 2fort and hyrdo ranked higher in % played than dustbowl, which I thought would be right up there with gravelpit.

I too would love to see heat maps of where people are placing sentries.

lol at those who say the soldier is overpowered. Though it has most damged weapon attack he is not #1 in either kills or points earned.

Edit- and crit rockets rank near the middle.
