This is a needless addition for me. Enough said in 'community contribute update' - don't encourage the 'community', most of the time they haven't a ****ing clue what they're talking about.

Well, it isn't. On top of that I don't have a 360 and I suck royal butt playing FPS games with a controller.

But no, while vanilla TF2 is great, I said earlier that I don't have a problem with certain updates as long as they follow a class pattern. Backburner, flaregun, airblast, all well and good. Homewrecker, not good. When you start to do cross-class stuff, you need to take a good long look at it and think about it not just in relation to performing the role of another class, but also in relation to what the class being updated does and what it already contains. Giving a class like the pyro a specific anti-spy tool is retarded. There's no other word for it. It's retarded. They've already got the best anti-spy tool in the game, giving them another that has absolutely NOTHING to do with their class is downright retarded.

I'm wondering too if this has something to do with the upcoming engineer update, if there's some reason an engineer might need to have someone else defending his stuff. Is the pyro getting something that breaks sappers as an added defense so engies can leave their nests?

You may have hit on something here. If engi does get a mobile robot how can he defend it from spies at the same time as his tele/dispenser nest?
Also the hammer removing sappers in one hit would make sense since the pyro can't repair the building while the engi is elsewhere.
 
I'm getting the best kind of warm fuzzies right now.

If the engineer gets a battle suit, and spys can directly sap to incapacitate, and pyros have the only option available to negate it (besides any other vanilla engies around), I am going to blow chunks. Of splooge.

My thoughts too, with the assumption that the robotic arm is for some kind of engie android'esque suit that he can install on himself I'd imagine a spy could 'sap' an engineer in practice? Pyro to the rescue.
 
We all love the spy checker! I still think the pyro could possibly be a girl.
 
I suggested a few pages back they could give the engi the P.D.Q. but instead of no upgrading it does nothing versus sappers.
 
That would be terrible. You would always need a pyro or another engineer around to defend your buildings.
 
Teamwork Darkside, teamwork. Anyway, the P.D.Q. isn't (or rather wouldn't) be for engineers who want to keep their farms alive as long as possible. It's for these engineers
