A new update has revealed an intriguing-sounding game-mode for Team Fortress 2. The game-mode is called "Highlander mode", and restricts the game to 9v9, with one class per player. It seems to be for competitive play, though chances are we will see it cropping up in experimental public servers very soon. If you have a 'Highlander' game, why not post your impressions of it in the comments?[br]Along with the new game-mode, Valve have updated a few of the maps, stopping various exploits and performance issues. Here are a few of the note-worthy updates:[br]
  • Enabled Steam Cloud support for key bindings and custom spraypaint images
    • Added Options->Multiplayer->Advanced option to toggle off/on: default is on
  • Added "bots" to the server's sv_tags convar if the server is running bots (yay, now we can avoid bot servers!)
  • Optimized the map Arena_WatchTower for better performance

If anyone wants to put one of these together, I'll go medic.

I could think of other maps that are in more urgent need of a performance check up...*cough* Harvest* cough*

One *player per class*, man.

Belly belly intriguing though.

Dude - when did they nerf the Sandman, or didn't I notice? I know they made it so they just drop their weapon, but I nailed a heavy yesterday and the ball just bounced off him. Is it based on distance now? Tell me it's not useless anymore.

Neat, thanks.
I may take the extra 15 health over luck shots knocked over the horizon.

Highlander might work well with Arena. Or terribly.
