Well... It seems like I keep coming back to this forum for advice on leading a mod.
I've just let go of one of my coders due to him giving more access to the CVS repository than me - I had access to only the compiled art/code and uncompiled art sections, while he had root access to the box that was hosting the CVS server as well as full access to the code, documentation, and compiled art/code. I wanted full access to every part of the repository so that I could organize every section as well as edit some of the code to fix some bugs in the current build. After an argument over CVS access, he resigns. I would've hoped for this to go much more smoothly.
Anyway, I ask you guys this question: is it at all ethical to have complete access to the repository of game content as team leader? Or should the team leader be limited on what he can access as well? My opinion is that the team leader, at least for the earlier parts of development, should have full access in order to coordinate the team and portions of the mod better.
