I'm quite certain that come preload, anyone with Steam can simply select it from the games menu and the preload will begin. No payment will be necessary, but will be required before you play the game.

It's really that fascinating.

Allow me to appreciate my excitement please, your negative voice is depressing me. I am happy that half life 2 is taking more steps to being on my hdd. It's the THOUGHT that after a year finally the day is coming closer. it isn't the preloading itself, it's everything coming after, how it means we are closer.

Apparantly most of the peoples thought around here is that i shouldn't be allowed to be happy about a preload. That's sad.

First off did any of you read the post were those guys visited valve and he asked Gabe when HL2 was comming out ? He responded "very Soon!". So one i take it that its done. Two i dont think they would preload some files and have it sit on your computer for a month so it must be really close for release.
