teen who commited suicide on livecam "egged on" by forum members

lets not turn this into a debate on the moral and ethical issues around suicide, this thread is simply to confirm the incident is real and perhaps as a lesson that we are still responsible for what we write despite the relative anononimity of the internet.

In a striking display of the power of live video, Abraham K. Biggs committed suicide on Wednesday while broadcasting himself on video site Justin.tv. As we understand it from various forum posts, the 19-year-old Floridian was apparently egged on by commenters on Justin.tv and fellow forum users on bodybuilding.com. Biggs overdosed on pills while on camera and appeared to be breathing for hours until watchers realized he might be serious, at which point they alerted the police. The video kept running until police and EMTs broke Biggs? door down and blocked the camera?s view.

We confirmed Biggs? death with the Broward County medical examiner. The Justin.tv video and many of the forum posts have been taken down.

so for now on no more picking on poor mentally unballanced knghenry or mostly-moral-mormon Uriel, or routinely-checks-for-cia-ninjas Kathaksung or all-niggas-must-die-saturos ..cuz you never know when they'll kill themselves and then post t in our "funny videos" section

Why do they always overdose? Why don't they do something like chop their heads off or feed themselves through a wood chipper?

Seriously though, It's pretty horrible when somebody commits suicide, unless it's like Hitler or something. I just people weren't so easily influenced by others like that.

overdose = far less messy ...remember the family is usually stuck with cleaning up afterwards



anyways, even though I was the first one to do it, lets keep the mockery to a low in this thread. his suicide note is in the linkabove ..it's pretty depressing as is this incident ..especially how some people made it into a spectacle for their own entertainment

im not so sure if he was thinking much of his family anyway. so from what i understand he originally wanted to commit suicide and was encouraged, or was he talked into it from the start?

Not a problem from me. I don't typically mock people who have committed suicide.

****ed up story. I remember a similar thing happening a few years back but it was in a chat room. Lots of crazy people out there, I don't understand why nobody called the police sooner.

Please continue discussion in that thread. And yeah, this is extremely reminiscent of Ripper's overdose on webcam while in the Shroomery.org IRC room a couple of years ago - his last words were "told u I was hardcore"
