How couldanyone anywhere in their right mind possibly think this is ok? I mean, asthma is a real illness and the drug used is know to help with it. People are given it legally. What is the matter with these people?!

The whole issue of a zero drug tolerance is so kids won't get high. This was to save a girls life, if the school is going to obstruct that I think the parents should sue the district enforcing polices that danger the lives of their children.

This is what has come from demonizing drugs. I agree that this is a very sad thing to have happen. I wish I were one of the parents, better yet I wish I was the legal representation that they are going to get. I would love to nail those school board idiots to the wall. If you've never had an asthma attack then you don't have a clue how scary it is to not be able to breathe. I've felt like i was going to die a few times while having an attack even after getting to an inhaler. The nurse reporting it was her job and is completly understandable, but the principal (or whomever) deciding to call the police is just plain ridiculous. I he/she were having an attack I wonder if he would think that the person who saved him/her would deserve to be incarcerated. I seriously doubt it. Or what if their child had been saved by someone else's child who knew what medication was needed and administered it, would they be upset then. Again I doubt it. What we should do is find an e-mail address for the school official and send them our thoughs on the matter.

I'm an asthmatic. It was worse when I was younger. I was in and out of hospital at least once a week. I still get all tight in the chest when I have to run for any length of time.
