aww, how cute :) given the title, I could have sworn this would be a referenc eof some sort to a certain previous thread of mine :p

I love your teh kitte hthough, its so cuddly looking! I have a camera, I should photo mine sometime.
 
I have 2, a fat one and a kitten and the kitten beats the shite outa the fat one, funny stuff

Wow one of my cats looks almost exactly the same as yours in that second picture. i'd take a picture but my camera makes them too big to post on forums :( and i dont have PS

Cats are wonderful.

And I really hate to rain on the parade here, but I'm really stressed out about my kitty and thought I'd share I guess.

Two days ago I walked out to the car where our 3 cats were playing. (Keep in mind I live in the middle of the forest about 2 miles from the nearest paved road) As I walked past the car a grouse suddenly flew into some bushes in front of me. For about 2 seconds I didn't think anything of it until I heard one of the cats start to scream. Then the bushes shook as my cat and whatever was after her ran back and forth through them. I started yelling and making a lot of noise to try to scare whatever it was off, but was too stunned to do much else as the whole fight lasted only about 5 seconds. Next thing I knew she (the cat) came running out of the bushes with her face and side covered in blood. She ran toward the house and I was hoping she was going to go through the cat door we have, but instead she ran across the porch and took off into the trees on the other side of the house.

After determining that the other two cats were alright I took after her. I found a blood trail on the porch but it soon died out in the grass. So we called a neighbor and 4 of us searched for her for about 15 minutes before finally spotting her. But we couldn't get to her as she was way too panicked and she ended up running even further off. From getting a brief glance at her she didn't seem too bad. She wasn't obviously limping and her face appeared intact, so we decided the best thing to do would be to give her a little while to come back to the house on her own rather than chase her even farther away.

Well that was at about 7:30pm. We went out again several times with no luck after that. Then at arond 10:30pm we heard her scream again and rushed outside (We think that something must have tried to get her again at this time since things would have been attacted by the smell of blood.) She came running in the cat door and rushed upstairs. (She also fell into our pond on the way in, which further indicates that something was after her again.) I followed her but then one of our other cats went up after her to see what was going on and she panicked, thinking it was after her so ran out onto our upper deck where she ended up falling off. After a bit of searching I finally found her sitting on a wooden shelf. By this time she was either exhausted or in shock as she didn't try to run away and I managed to get her in a cat carrier and call the vet. By this time it was about 11:30pm. (To say the least, I didn't get much sleep that night.)

So anyway, to make a long story a little shorter she's now back at home after a couple days at the vets office. At first we thought we might have to put her to sleep but it appears that she will make it alright, though things are still serious. She ended up having 7 or 8 puncture wounds around her head and back, head and neck trauma, pretty severe damage inside her mouth, and worst of all nerve damage that has left half her face without feeling and caused her to be unable to close one eye. So right now the vet has told us to just take care of her for about a week and let her heal a bit before he does a full examination of her mouth and determines if oral surgery is needed and if she will be able to keep her eye. So all in all, we're pretty lucky really. She's not in great shape, but atleast she'll live through it I hope, which is a relief.

We still don't know what attacked her. We assume something must have been stalking the grouse and she got in the way, though we don't really know. There are quite a few possibilities as we have things like bobcats, cougars, coyotes, racoons, etc around us. Unfortunately, I had to return to school the day after it happened, but hopefully I can go back this weekend to check up on her. Sorry for the gloomy story in such a nice thread. I guess I just wanted to share as it's been eating at me the last couple days.

Here's a picture of her before it happened. I know it's a really bad picture, but it's the only one I had on my computer here since she's always been skittish and it's hard to get a decent shot since she always runs away right when I click the picture.
 
And just to stay on topic with the thread and add a somewhat lighter note to my previous post, here's pics of my two other kitties. Luckily both of them came through unscathed.
 
My kitteh was put to sleep about a year ago. ;(

He didn't like anyone but me, that's why they did it ;(

edit: hey shippi, mishka looks almost exactly like my cat churka :) even the name mishka is russian sounding. is it meant to be?
 
Mine, both around 13 years old. Brother and sister :cat: :D

Neutrino, I hope your cat will be okay. I hate to see animals hurt except monkeys but that's another story.

That sucks.

I haven't let my cats outside without supervision since three of the last four kittens (the same size as DigiQ8's kitten) were killed by a neighbor's dog. I had a weird feeling the day before, so I gathered all of them up on my bed and took a single picture... then, right as I got home from school the next day, the dog was running away from our house. By the time I found out what happened he was long gone. I would have probably killed that dog with my bare hands if I had gotten there in time.

Anyway, we gave the sole survivor of that litter to a friend. We still have three great cats... and one lazy, fat-ass of a cat :LOL:.

My mom let them out. On three other occasions (four if you count her running over one of them on the way to work) it has almost killed one or more of our cats, but she still keeps sending them out on their own... and guess who she blames for not watching them when something bad happens.
You guessed it... ME!

Awwww, I too love Kittys...

I have one pic of one of my two cats. She was a stray when we first found her. She must be at least 15 now...

I mean whats with the blue star thingie... and the massive eyes... and how it stands on its back legs..

I never seen a cat like it!

It just looks like a cuddly toy to me!
