Terminator: Salvation Teaser

TBH, I didn't much like the t3 story, but the atmosphere was intense and awesome. Especially when the machines start to take over, when they were watching through the window, I got all excited... I almost came... almost. I really don't think this 1 minute preview of mostly black backgrounds has given any of us enough of the story to make any assumption on how the movie will be. I personally never liked the Lasers and all black atmosphere of the "Terminator War." That seemed more cliche to me (80's style) than this looks. I'm glad it still looks like earth even though it's post nuclear war, and most life has inevitably been destroyed, that shouldn't effect the sun. I like the way this is looking, but still, it's only about 20 seconds of footage that we see, so I can't say for sure either way.

The series ended with Terminator 2. I shit on these shallow plot holed filled PG-13 popcorn crapfests.

People are already calling this movie shit when all they have seen is the preview?

Hmm, I guess people can't base a good judgment day anymore, just guesses as facts.

I stand by what I said.

Should just be 1 1/2 hours of robots and humans blowing eachother up with little to no dialogue except for commands.

And that would be a huge disappointment. It's a Terminator movie, there are standards it's meant to live up to.

Pitzy, we've know the quality of the director and the writers. I'm not saying it's 100% certain the films gonna be shit but the -only- reason to even think about getting our hopes up is a single cast member.

Going off of past work is a way of getting an idea, but it sounds like everybody has made up their mind. I mean, at least wait for reviews to come out :p

I haven't passed final judgement, I'm just not getting my hopes up. At all. :)

Say hello to the new T-800.

I can't judge yet, but it doesn't look good the direction they're going.

Only way to save both Aliens/Predator series (though AVP including Aliens 4 may leave no hope for those series now) with Terminator who is James Cameron.
Also:
Cast

* Christian Bale as John Connor: The battle-experienced leader of the Tech-Com human resistance, who is now in his early thirties, is waging war against Skynet after it has destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust. Bale was the first person to be cast and signed on for the role in November 2007.[5] McG talked extensively with Bale in England about the role, and they both agreed to move forward.[4] Bale is a fan of the films, and liked the script. He has signed on to appear in two sequels.[6]

* Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese: A teenaged soldier and admirer of John Connor. In The Terminator, to ensure the survival of the human race, he was sent back in time, and fathered John with Sarah Connor.[7]

* Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright: A decommissioned Terminator,[7] who befriends Connor and Reese. His last memory is of being on death row, and Connor is unsure of whether he is from the past or the future.[8] Terminator creator James Cameron personally recommended Worthington (whom he directed in Avatar) to McG.[9] Worthington tore a muscle on his left ribs during the first weeks of filming, but nevertheless insisted on performing his own stunts.[10]

* Bryce Dallas Howard as Kate Connor: John's wife, who is helping him build his resistance. Charlotte Gainsbourg was originally set to play the part, but left because of scheduling conflicts with another film.[11]

* Moon Bloodgood as Blair Williams: A "a no-nonsense and battle-hardened" pilot in the resistance suffering from survivor guilt.[12]

* Common as Barnes: A freedom fighter and John's right-hand man.[13][14]

* Roland Kickinger as the prototype T-800. This will be the first Terminator film in which Arnold Schwarzenegger does not play the Series 800 Model 101 model, because he is serving his second term as Governor of California.[15] Nevertheless, he granted the Halcyon Company permission to use his likeness in the film.[16] The Austrian-born Kickinger previously played Schwarzenegger in a 2005 biographical film on the A&E Network.[17]

Additional cast members include Jadagrace as Star,[8] Chris Ashworth as Richter,[18] Chris Browning as Morrison,[19] and Jane Alexander.[20] Helena Bonham Carter has been confirmed to star in a "small but pivotal" role as a character named "Serena," who may be the lead villain.[21][22][23]

Hmm, bring Reese back into it, it doesnt sound too bad really. Only time will tell.

Thats crazy and awkward that well see Reese as a teenage solider fighting alongside his overgrown son...

Man this movie sounds trippy now.

And I have to agree that T3 was a completely unnecessary sequel. It was basically Terminator 2 but with a chick sidekick, a chick terminator, and the same action sequences just mixed around. For instance, the truck chase is as identical as the canal tunnel chase with the diesel truck. Then the funeral scene is the same as Arnold firing a minigun from that complex building on the cops. Also you wish for the same emotional connection in T2, yet you don't get it between the terminator and john conner. The only really great part was the end, when Conner and his girlfriend is alone in the bunker. But other than that, I could of gone without this movie. I think T3 is a poor man's T2.

The late Stan Wilson. Respect to him and all of his great CGI..

Can't wait for this.

My above post was supposed to have the new T-800, but it doesn't seem to be showing:

Can ya see it?

No, just no. I would've been content with them just removing the T-800 character altogether, rather than this...:|

The film is set in 2018, focusing on the original war between humanity and the Terminator computer network Skynet. It abandons the formula of the series (Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Model 101 Terminator time traveling to the present to protect or kill someone of future importance), and the film could be rated PG-13, unlike the other R-rated films. Filming began on May 5, 2008.

wha??

The film will be released in North America on May 22, 2009,[35] and it could be rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America, unlike the previous R-rated films. The producers cited the desire to broaden the series to a new audience and the modern leniency of violence in PG-13 films (such as Live Free or Die Hard), but they have stated that they will not force the rating.[25] McG explained, "We have entertained the idea of a PG-13 rating largely because Batman Begins, in my opinion, was made compromise-free. So we'll see. The movie comes first and it will be protected at all times."[10]

ahahahaaaa :hmph:

It does worry me that one of the producers in Entertainment weekly said-

"We want it to have the atmosphere of Children of Men, but with the velocity of Transformers."

I like the atmosphere at the beginning, it reminds me of Fallout. We'll see how it turns out. This teaser isn't enough to judge it by.
