Terrible Rainstorm..

Today was quite possibly the worst rainstorm my area has had in quite a while. There was a little flooding and a huge downfall of rain. There was tons of lightning and thunder.. I happened to be taking a shower while this happened. I end up getting out and going into my room to change. In about 5 minutes my light flickers, I think nothing of it. Then about 5 seconds later, my power goes out. I'm like well the rest of the house must be out too so I go check.. I look in one room, the TV is still on. I check about 5 others, and everything works fine.. I then realize that the only room that doesn't have power is mine.. I try and fix it through the circuit breaker, and I can't because all circuits are set in the on position.. So now my room doesn't have power..
I just find it completely weird that only my room doesn't have power..

Any experiences like this ever happen to you guys?

Yeah, we get some good storms here too. Sometimes our power will flicker all over the house. Our computers reboot, the TVs turn off, but it's nothing.

Although, one winter, there was a horrible ice storm where we had like 4" of ice (10.16cm) on everything. Our power was out for at least 5 days. No heater, no refrigerator/freezer, no lights at nighttime (except for candles). It sucked. To make matters worse, much of the town was out of power for a day and then had power restored. But our block, not neighborhood, just our block had no power for at least 5 days. GG

Wow... my lights dim when my air conditioner kicks in... The worst outage I've seen was when my power went out for about 3 hours one day... Not bad once I hear these stories.

That's funny, because a flash storm just like that happened here a few days ago. It was literally one minute dry the next minute (well ok, maybe minutes ) there was flooding. Some poor idiot thought it would be a good to leave his mercades convertable open outside... I bet you can guess what happened to it. Plus there was like a lightning strike every 10 seconds right near my house- one tree 80 ft from my house got struck and burst out bits of bark 100+ ft. Forunately, it exploded towards my neighbors house. Of course, the entire time I was in my basement playing cs. :E

Was outta power from 11 PM to sometime in the morning...stupid electric people. I played hide and seek..boy...in this small apartment, you never realized that hiding in teh hallway where anyoen can see you is so hard to be seen D:

Its a ghost, not a powerstorm. Notice how it singled out your room? It's gonna get you when you sleep.

Well, i'm going to sleep! Nighters! haha. Damn I'm always on awful schedules.

Not so far from me there was a huge thunderstorm that lasted about a day and dropped over a meter of water I think and a bunch of parked cars got lifted up and floated into wierd places the next day

Mind you when we have storms over where I live (which preston rarely gets) they tend to be impressive, especially last summer, around August. You can ask Pi Mu Rho. Plus we had a Tornado about a month back (Pi might remember this)
