Well, I got my retail package of my 3D Prophet AIW ATi Radeon 9800SE 128mb DDR AGP 8X ....

And I'm looking for games that push graphics cards to thir limits... becuase I'd like to see how my new card performs :)

Oh, and I'd like to have a game that is actually a game I'd like to play, not just a pretty tester thing :p

(oh, and please don't tell me my card is shite, becuase I like it, it was a bargin.. and it is good :imu: )

What have you played so far? Games that "push" your card would include things like.. Max Payne 2, DX:IW, Halo PC.. uhhm, that's all I can think of that carry hefty requirements ATM :) lol

UT2003 at max res, max anti aliasing and all the other bells and whistles.
Unreal 2, same as above.
Prince Of Persia
Max Payne 2
i know you like Halo too so try that at a higher res.

Might want to try out a few benchmarking programs, too.

DX:IW might not be the best to actually stress test a card, at least not for a few more patches :).

First thing I tested my 9800 when i got it was with GTA:VC. Turned up AA to forced 8X, and AF to forced Max, maxed out every feature inside the game. And raised the resolution as high as i could. It was really nice.

Heh... it's an AIW card... so it's got a remote

/me drools.... I've just cracked open the packaging... and playing with all the funny calbles :)

Heh, yeah, same for me. I'm assuming you meant 6x AA though, unless I've been missing something all this time ;)

lol lucky you , mrBadger! I'm stuck with this reserve 32mb ,non D3D supporting weird gfx card until i hand in my crappy G4 Ti4200 AGP8X for reparation.. Meh, I have a 2.4 Ghz comp and I can't perform better than a 450 MHz comp.. But Max Payne 2 still runs great on all details on medium and 800x600 !! I love the game!

You know a graphics card is good when it comes with a warning about siezures :)

Oh yes...I'm loving it :D

Yeah I got my 9600XT and the games that came with it sucked. The one locked up everytime.

mrBadger I wanna play with your thing as well! HomeWorld 2 at highest everything might also do some damage? Im not sure... I just have a ti4600... *cough* D3 0.2 *cough*

hm...well not many games right now can do anything, believe me i know. i got my 9800pro 128 and run everything silky smooth. cod might be ok with everything and fps meter of course. im really just waiting for hl2 stalker d00m3 and farcry for all my computer intense games...

Wait wait the explosions in Splinter Cell would have killed my gfx if it was a horse.

well, I just upgraded from a ti4200 to a 9800pro (cpu=p4 2.0)

Um, not worth it really (which I knew), the consumer whore in me just wanted her fill.

DX:IW did run better and looked better and ET runs at approx the same FPS with 1280 and 4xAA as it it did with 1024 w/o AA with the ti4200.

OTOH, Tv-Out looks like crap (and I thought it would improve :/)

Hehe... after a morning of cutting myself on sharp computer edges, my card is thrumming away... I can now watch any TV channel on my Computer :)

You might wanna try soft modding that board... Many 9800SE cards can be softmodded and clocked to 9800 pro speeds. The hercules AIW 9800SE is a particularly good soft modding board so you might want to try soft modding your Prophet AIW.
