Try adding the parameter '-dxlevel 81' to your shortcut of HL2.

Fading sometimes occurs due to the game automatically preserving on resources by lowering maximum sight.

DirectX 8.1. will give more space for those necessary resources.

I tried to add the parameter -dxlevel 81 to Launcher.exe and even tried '-dxlevel 81'. Still won't work. What can I do? Those boxes & other stuff are still fading in and out, depending on distance. I mean, they aren't supposed to fade out AT ALL!

I'm DESPERATE. Someone please, please help.

I don't think you understood me.

Here's what you do :
-Left-click on Steam tray icon
-Select 'Games'
-Click on the 'My Games' tab
-Right-click on the game you want to add a parameter to (HL2 or CS:S)
-Select 'Properties'
-Click on 'Set Launch Options'
-Type in the box that comes up : -dxlevel 81

Wait a minute... launcher.exe smells like Emporio to me

It's Emporio. But how can I make the texture problem work with the Emporio version?

Try their forums then. You're not gonna get any help with a pirate game on this forum. Sorry.

Please excuse me but what the heck is Emporio?

Emporio is a software cracking organization that is well known for being one of the first groups to successfully crack Valve Software's popular game, Counter Strike: Source. They also released Day of Defeat: Source on September 24, 2005 which was two days before the official release on Steam. They have also released Rag Doll Kung Fu on October 7, 2005, five days prior to it being released on Steam.

The cracked games were distributed primarily via Steam. As Valve releases updates to the game, Emporio cracks the updates and distributes them in the scene.

This "group" is controlled by a leader who employs the alias: MaddoxX

I hate you very very much, Beerdude.
The feeling's mutual I'm sure.
You're not allowed to talk about illegal versions of any game here. Also, you're quite ignorant to assume you could. What is this, your first time online?

That owl is hilarious.

Also, the fading can be reduced - no matter in legal or illegal version - by increasing screen's resolution in the game. There was also a command to stop the fading, but I forgot it...
