Texture Problems

i am currently building a lader for my sewer and i ran into a problem where the ladder texture .... (material metal ladder01) instead of making a whole ladder it creates 2 halves of a laddernext to eachother. Now i am able to rectify the problem by moving the entire sewer access a few units to either side. My main question "is there anyway to center a texture to where you want it so this doesnt happen?"
 
yes a much much simpler way then moving the whole map over
press shift+a; or click the cube that has blue, green, and redish on it, which is located on the left.
use the texture shifts some auto allignment I suppose.
 
so thats what that frigin button does, i thought it was jsut there to torment me with its evil wizrdry and knumchuck skills
 
also play with the options under Align. here you can make it so that if you have it set on World the texture bases its coordinates off of the world's system, but if its set to Face the texture will stay static no matter where the object is.

Also on the top there is a button that jsut has "tl" on it. That is Texture Lock, enable it to lock texture in place so they dont move when you move the object around your map.

i learned how to use the texture application tool, it made it all better
