Textures not appearing

My friend donwloaded source SDK not too long ago and he told me something was wrong with it. I went over to his house and the textures aren't appearing. I remember facing this problem before but I don't remember how i fixed it. Does anyone know how to change this?

Run the game/s, refresh the SDK.

My friend ran each game, refreshed the content, and validated them. The textures stil aren't appearing for him.

What are the specs of his comp, especially the Graphic card/driver version, OS. Did he do the Windows Updates? Did he get the game on Steam or retail? If everything is up to date then I think he'll have to uninstall/reinstall everything.

Where are they not appearing, in game or in Hammer?

I can't remember atm, but I think there might be a path setting for the gcf's. Maybe if one of them was wrong it would do this.
Dunno.. just thinkin.
