TF2 Classes Based on Nationalities?

what i meant was fastest casual average walking speed in the world. :D of course many other countries also have people who walk really quick casually but our average is the highest.

Only when walking home.

EDIT: Oh that voice is awesome, fits well.

I thought this thread would be a flame about how its politicly incorrect etc. But iv been proven wrong! Nice. Love what valve has done with the look and sound of the game.

Go to about the 13:40 mark of this vid (after the Portal stuff). You can hear the characters' voices during the footage of their taunts. Scout sounds American; Spy sounds upper class English, Medic and Pyro don't speak, Soldier sounds, well, Anglophone anyway, and I believe the Sniper is saying "God Save the Queen", in...what's that a Cockney accent...?

I just noticed this thread. Great contributions from all, but I'm rather surprised that no one has made the obvious connection for the Pyro: Ignus. If anyone has played Planescape: Torment they know that he and the Pyro were seperated at birth, and in my opinion should be used as inspiration for the Pyro video, if it is ever made. I do like the suggestions of not giving him an accent, plain English but muffled through the gas mask and sounding like he's been smoking since he was twelve.

"Adjustments need to be made while firing in the wind" is now the spy's catchphrase.

Great thread.... I had not played fortress that much but after watching the videos and such I am very interested on getting my hands on Fortress 2. I really like the way the characters have their own personalities. Its what makes the game for me.

Sniper: I'd put him as an Aussie, probably similar to Jason Isaacs' character from Jurassic Park (the park warden).
It was Bob Peck, not Jason Isaacs. Who isn't Australian. Sorry to be pedantic, but JP was a large part of my childhood. I was, like, way cool.
I think it's pretty obvious that I still am.

Also, judging by that video, it would seem that the sniper is indeed an Aussie. Or alternatively, voiced by Dick Van Dyke.
Anything's possible.

Nice one; I didn't know it wasn't Jason Isaacs. It's been a while since I've seen the movie though.

I knew Jason Isaacs wasn't Australian, but I also know that he's capable of a wide range of accents. ;) It's good that someone knew who I was talking about though, and thank you for the correction.

I love the images, made me laugh. :)

I love Jurassic Park.

**** it, I'm watching it.

Wasn't the Sniper the one saying "Gawd save the queen" in the gameplay videos?

Queen Elizabeth II is the Queen of Australia

I'm dissapointed with the sniper being Australian though, they should have made him sound like Mark Lanegan... :sniper:

It didn't sound all that Australian to me though, maybe it's just that one thing though. I dunno.

Jamaican. Nice.

And Finol's a goon? D:

Also, I love the French spy. Totally awesome.

Anyone else noticed the voice files are in the pre-load GCF? Can't identify all the accents, but this is what I have so far:
- Medic: German
- Pyro: ...too muffled to be distinguishable
- Scout: American
- Sniper: Australian (could be either that or Cockney, but he says "mate" a lot, so I'm guessing the former)
- Spy: French

So, what you have learned from game? I'm still waiting for retail...

I was thinking maybe the spy is french..
but the pinstripe suit screams british to me.

The Spy is Italian.
"Prego!" nod nod*

Didn't expect the Demoman accent.

Demoman's voice is awesome. :D
