Very interesting that Valve would put names on the images in order to hint at the method of acquiring the achievement.

Does that make any sense? I'm not sure if it does now.
 
I kinda wish Valve would stop using the "Slower melee lol" as they're disadvantage for the melee alternative

Because it's a side-weapon, fool.

In fact, it is exactly what you said - it's another choice of weapon. Not an upgrade.
 
Also, TF2 was (and it's arguable that it's not so much anymore but personally I'd say it's not too bad) extremely well-balanced. Giving achievement weapons without any downsides would take this finely-tuned balance, rape it with barbed wire and throw it off a ship.
 
I reckon that the new weapons for each class are part of a re-balancing effort of Valve's. As player experience grew certain classes and strategies become less viable. Giving appropriate and balanced new weapons is a way of allowing the classes to fulfilling roughly the same roles - just using different methods.

It's an alternative weapon, not an upgrade. If they were upgrades it would be both unbalanced until all classes are done and we wouldn't need to choose between the original weapons. You are incorrect in your view that these are upgrades at all.

I did a report on Rasputin. That guy was ****ing insane. What is the achievement about?
 
Taking damage from multiple sources I believe, much like the medic achievement for healing somone doing it.

That was sort of a disappointing update. But then again, the first update was also a single map. I'd rather have meaty updates like yesterday, with more than one piece of new information.

I was thinking it would be to go through an entire round with your gun spinning or something like that, but the picture description says "kill while spun up" so it'll probably be something like... kill while spun up.
 
^ Yeah it sounds like one of thoes basic learning-to-play achievements.
 
New payload map looks nice. Probably gonna be sniper heaven like goldrush though. My poor heavy head :( :p
 
It is a strange feeling for me to be so excited about a game update.

I am enjoying it though. I will play team fortress until the day i die.
