If there were ONE area of development you would want Valve to concentrate on exclusively for Team Fortress 2, what would it be?

Remember to choose the option you prefer most

Maps - leave the balance as it is, we need more environments and game types to play around in, not more complexity.

Guns - more weapons = more ways to play the game, which I would prefer to more maps.

Achievements - so I'm a statwhore? Nothing wrong with that!

Girl characters - they're all guys, what's up with that?

Nuthin' - it's fine just the way it is. If I want something extra I can just pick and choose from what the custom community comes up with.

Matchmaking - I want to play with people of my own skill level at the click of a button.

CTF - Capture the Flag is what made TF great, let's not forget our roots.

Maps. The balance is pretty decent, and I'd say CTF falls under this category too, in a way.

After all the classes get their alternative weapons I'm happy for Valve to focus on maps.

I was thinking the other day that to keep players interested in games they have to be in a constant state of learning, for TF2 I think this is best served with new maps - i.e. finding new spots for sentries, rocket jumps, sniper spots, the general dynamics of the map, etc. Sure new guns help but I wonder if having more than one alternate is too many.

I'd like better balanced maps. Some work well, others are shite. I'm looking at you Hydro.

More CTF maps please.

I wouldn't be adverse to more guns either.

More maps.

Gief Warpath, Avanti, Rock2, Casbah as well as 'new' ones like goldrush (which sounds awesome).

Tf2 needs...something to make me stop playing on Dustbowl only servers.

So a good map.

In all honesty, I'd rather have the mod community give us more maps. Let Valve keep working on what they are working on.

I don't trust anyone but valve to make maps worth playing on.

maps, guns, acheivments. if i could vote thrice, i would.

Wow. Interesting results.

Yes, CTF falls into the 'maps' category, but I gave it its own option for people who are specifically wanting for CTF as opposed to Push, Goldmine, Hunted, etc. game types. Personally I think I prefer Push to CTF because there isn't as much of a split between offence and defence on a team.

I voted maps, because the mapcycle in TF2 is way too short for me.

i guess if you have an imagination, you could think the pyro as a girl....ewwww maybe not, but ya deffinetly more maps, im sick and tired of all these map "noobs" making maps that contain two barrels and a closet, and im sick and tired of seeing all these "Badlands 24/7" servers.

It's not if you have an imagination or not, the pyro is a female. Look in her locker, there is a purse with a flower. I don't want to hear anything about a gender confused man.

Gender is defined by genitals. That's how it works.

Then how do you know that any of the other classes are men?

how do you know which one owns the flower hand bag, maybe one of the characters has a gf and is holding her hand bag while she goes fight darth vader in Soul Caliber 4?!

if she was off saving the world.........matbye but only iff she saved the world in a hot skimpy outfit like Ivy.

Somebody pointed out the pyro had a flowery bag before toaster even joined...

note- I may be exaggerating. Alls I know is there was a thread a long time before the most recent one.

lawl yeah. The bag is old old old. I'm just the first kid (probably) to point out that it's most likely a makeup bag. Which isn't too huge a revelation anyway ._.

Well, yes, the fact that is held makeup was new.

Honestly, I didn't even know they had bags specifically for makeup.

Outward appearance is usually a good indication (but not always, as anyone who has been to Thailand can testify).

The Pyro's outward appearance IS masked, so not even a probable scenario can be extrapolated. Gruff voice and square chin usually point to a male. What you're claiming is that handbag and flowers points to a female, which is not true.

Cross-dressing is absolutely no indication of gender (or even sexual preference, take Eddie Izzard, for example).

Guns. Well it doesn't need it, but I would very much like it. And I don't get the obesession with more maps, although I would like new gamemodes (which usually comes with a new map), I couldn't care less about new CTF/CP maps. Really, how many variations of the same thing do you need? If you're bored with CP_Well, you're going to be bored very quickly with CP_Newmap when the new shine wears off. The amount of maps that TF2 came with is often criticized, but honestly, they're plenty. Each map is of good quality and they're all quite different from eachother (with the exception of Well and Granary) which alone gives more variation than most other games can offer. CS comes with how many maps? 20? And how many are played? Two, three? UT comes with a shitload of maps, but aren't they all variations of the same thing? Almost no game comes with more than a couple of actually different maps. At least TF2 can proudly say that almost every map offers a truly different playstyle, and Dustbowl and Hydro are technically multiple maps - what a map would be in anoher game - in one.

I can see you've never played Team Fortress Classic...

For a start, lots of TFC maps had destructibles, so a demoman could go and plant a demopack and blow open a new route for everyone to use. Secondly, TFC had waaaaay more game modes than TF2. Thirdly, there can be a LOT of variation between CP (Push) and CTF (Capture the Flag, obv.) maps. Epicentre was completely different to Badlands or Casbah or 2Fort. Not only did TFC have Dustbowl, but it had another Assault map: Avanti, which was completely different in playstyle. And then there's Hunted.

In fact TFC has way more game modes than TF2. That's what makes TF2 so disappointing for me, and why it made so much more sense to bundle it on release and not release it separately until now.

TF2 has:
- Push (Well)
- CTF (2Fort)
- Assault (Dustbowl)
- Mini Campaign (Hydro)
+ Minecart coming soon

TFC has:
- Push (Warpath)
- CTF (2Fort, Epicenter, Badlands, Crossover2)
- Fetch Objective-based (Rock2)
- Assault (Dustbowl, Avanti)
- Escort/Assassination (Hunted)
- Multi-CTF (Flagrun)
- Zone Control (CanalZone2)

So, not only more game modes, but more maps for each game mode. The classes in TF2 are a lot more fun, but TFC still wins out on map variation and quantity.

wait, how do you people know its the pyros bag?? if anything it would be either the heavies or the soldiers, jest for the sake of comedy, i can imagine a heavy playing with little barbie dolls in his flower bag, and a medic bursting through the door with guns blasting behind him saying "Come on big sissy, time to pile ass!"
