TF2 work

I just mean that the wireframes around the models do not look as tho they represent where the polygones are on the model. A big part of modeling, especily in tearms of games, is making sure your models are as low polly as possible and as clean as possible. You can't wast pollys willy nilly. A psp for example can handle around 3000 pollys at any given time, now thats not much, you must make everyone count or its just a wast and a burden on the system.

I'm afraid you're right stormy.
I'll have to polygon-model all of my models. I tried it with some plugin but the polygons aren't nice after reducing them. This is quite the bummer. But before I go remoddeling everything I'll look arround some more...Any tips, plugins, software, tutorials??? I guess I m a little f'"k*d ;)

Thanx for the advice...I'm a real newbie in games and such...

But I'll guess the best lesson is the hard one.

First off i would try and find a different modeling tool, if you can try and get 3d Studio Max 8. I think 9 is on the verge of coming out but it wont have much support for getting your models in game.

Abit of a development in the 3D softwear world would also make me recomend max over anything elce. Discreet, the people who made max, have bought out their major competor maya. From what i understand max is going to be developed further into game development wile maya is going to be developed for film and TV.

And lastly your going to be able to find a nice lot of tutorials looking about on the webs. www.3dbuzz.com is generaly a good one. Have a look see what you can find.

Thanx I'll look into 3dbuzz.com...thank god it's friday ;)

I don't think I'll need to change my 3D-program. I need to change the way I model them. Normally I model with solids and surfaces -Wich is what I need in my line of business- Now I need to learn how to model with polygons. I'll guess it ll be close to surface modelling but with only planes. I can export to 3ds-format so I don't think that'll be the problem. And also I lack the money to buy such a high-end program as 3ds-max. We'll see...I hope to model some of my props in polygons this weekend. We'll see...maybe another update by sunday-evening. Thank you for the support and good luck with the mod
Enjoy the weekend ;)
