Director Steven Soderbergh insists Ocean's Thirteen will be the last installment of the lucrative franchise led by an all-star cast including George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. The director confirmed the news during a question and answer session with reporters at the Edinburgh Film Festival in Scotland on Saturday night. Soderbergh told the crowd they decided to make another installment because "George wanted to go out strong" and that Ocean's Twelve was too complicated, according to film website Dark Horizons. The filmmakers wanted the series to return to its comedic roots this time around and they've also added Al Pacino as a villain. Soderbergh adds, "This guy's a monster!" The announcement comes just days after the film's producer, Jerry Weintraub, told the Hollywood trade papers, "I want them (the cast) all back for Ocean's Fourteen."

After the abortion that was Ocean's Twelve, I can't help but be really happy by this.

it would have been better if they just left it at Oceans Eleven.

That's why I'm glad. Ocean's Eleven is one of those movies that would have been FINE with no sequels, but noooooo, Soderbergh had to go out and make some crappy "this is what happened afterwords!" dealie that ended up just being a big mess of crap. I hated that movie so ****ing much.

It's not his fault either D:
He needed the money to finance his own films as well. Like the upcoming Che :D. Guess what that's about.

The adventures of cockney psycopath private detective el Chi and his lawyeresque sidekick?

Ocean's 12 wasn't THAT bad...
It was a fun movie atleast... I didn't care for the soundtrack too much though.

Ocean's 11 was great, I absolutely loved the soundtrack.

13-11=2 not 3

This movie would therefore be the second installment, not the third like this article claims.

Ocean's 12 was really fun in my opinion! Oceans eleven was ****ing great!

Taxman, you need to work on your math skills.
11 is a movie too, so it'd be 13-10=3

I'm with Harij, I loved 11 and 12. 12 has a great soundtrack, especially the part when they're all getting out of the jail, the laser dance, when they show Linus carrying the egg in his backpack, and the ending music when they're meeting up for poker.

I thought both were great movies in their own way, 12 seemed to have more "style" to it and I loved that.

12 also made no ****ing sense. I honestly had no idea what was going on.

Oceans Eleven was decent. It has a good style with all the music and all. Ocean's Twelve was just a bit "meh".

I didnt see Oceans 12 as I couldnt stand Oceans 11. I actually fell asleep trying to get through it.

I thought 1st was a lot better then 2nd but 2nd wasnt bad. It was just to simple , fun film tho.

The laser dance song gave me a gorramn head ache.

I loved 11 (especially the dialogue and humor).

12 lost major points for the Julia Roberts bit and the way the plot went. It lost that awesome crazy casino heist feel that 11 had when you find out the real heist was just some quick hand-work on a train weeks prior.

Loved the music in both.
