Yes, my HL2 doesn't work, but I'm all the more curious to why the HL2 game is only 800+ MB. I'd be sure it'd be over a Gig.

A big problem is my mom used the PC before me, and she evidently, saw it "downloading" and then it turned itself off.

Very vague. And I haven't recieved a prompt at all for a confirmation code.
And yes, it crashes when loading up the main menu. The Valve movie runs fine. But I have an inkling that this may be related to HL:S not being fully downloaded yet, oddly enough.

So, anyone help, I'm dieing here! Please, I beg of you all before I start a temper tantrum and the house goes up in smoke!

um only thing i can think of is redownlaod the whole game, by going to HL2 properties, then click delete local game content. Then redownload the whole thing ocer again.

I'm pretty sure the game is over 800 Mb. You need to download it again.

HL2, should benearly 5GB, depending on your version (bronze, silver, gold)

at 800 mb, thats screwed, the cache status should say that too.

Mine says 838mb and it runs fine.

Yeah, mine is 4.23GB, shame I can't get on Steam to get the acitvation code though,due to my network :frown: :frown:
