Is it Lovecraftian horror, rather than Resident Evil horror? Because Resident Evil horror is overdone. Although, if you're doing something inspired by Counterstrike,'s controls and shooting, I'd assume you're going to be shooting alot, which means there's going to be lots of enemies.

For those that don't know, Lovecraft was one of the greatest horror writers of his time. And the monsters he created were near-unkillable, so a mod using stuff inspired by him would have only a few encounters with monsters, but they'd be near indestructable, and the game would involve lots of running/screaming/yelling "Ia! Shub-Niggurath!"

Many mods are after musicians, but they don't actively advertise for it, because it's a rather specialised position. Send your details to other mods, rather than wait for them to ask for a musician.

its a mixture of both it encorporates lots of very weak and ai controled enemys and very strong enemys that are almost indestroyable.
I took inspiration from both and try to combine them to a new type of horror.

concerning music... we already have a musician on the team...
but if you think your music would contribute to the atmosphere of the mod feel free to send me some samples of your previous work

You ever read any Lovecraft then? Because I'd love to see something similar to a Shoggoth pop up.

But having minor enemies kinda spoils Lovecraftian horror. Everything needs to be some sort of cosmic intelligence, older than Earth, ready to end the world. I guess Lovecraft's work doesn't really make for much of a shooter.

That craziness on the ceiling is a Shoggoth. They can't really die.

That picture wakes my interest :O creepy! Gotta read something from that Lovecraft guy. Thanks.

(omg, there's another picture of that thing, aaargh!)

yes i read lots of lovecrafts book´s and i like them very much. As you guessed right its difficult to develop a multiplayer gameplay based on lovecraft.

Those minor enemy´s are actually not to minor at all. 1 or probably 2 shot will put em on the ground but they will start moving again after some seconds. They can only be destroyed if you kill the demon which created em.

All Monsters ingame will be creations of our own.

Good good, creativity is good. And I'm glad I'm not the only person on the messageboard who actually reads.

I might as well promote Lovecraft some more, though. Be warned, his writing style is a little tough to get to grips with, as it's from the early 1900s, if I remember correctly.
