The amazing effect video games have...(spoilers)

I was posting something for the 'Fav Ep2 Moment thread' when I though, 'Wow, isnt it weird how some video games can make you feel' for example at the very end of episode 2 at Eli's death, apparently alot of people cryed or were close to tears at that scene, and if you think, all he is is a voice animated to a person in a game, he doesnt even have organs...

DISCUSS!! what expriences have you had in video games and what is the worst youve gone.

I felt no emotion during the end of Episode Two. It was spoiled for me by people not considerate enough to use Spoiler tags.

Partially that and the fact that I have few emotions.

i teared more when alyx cried and the screen was black. that was the most powerful emotion i have ever felt in a game.

Same here. When she said "Don't leave me..." I got a chill down my spine. There were lots of tears in my eyes, and I still get teared up every time I see it.

I didnt cry but it was really emotional, come on MEN!! lol, and was that THE most emotional moment in a game, was it not?

Although I didn't tear up at Eli's death, I was in a somewhat state of shock, like 'that was wayy intense.' Especially when you hear Alyx still sobbing as the screen faded to black. Powerful stuff...

I'd heard Eli was going to die, but I'd got so swept up into the game I'd forgotten all about it, then when the advisors began the attack it came back to me and that made the scene more powerful for me. When Eli died I couldn't watch, the scene seemed to drag on and I was angry that I couldn't do anything.

The same thing happened to me, it was at the time when the second Advisor appearrd, and Alyx said "Oh my God" with a very frightened voice.

I felt the same emotion that I think the writers wanted to represent; the exact moment when Alyx realizes that we can't do anything to save her father. Eli's just going to die, it will be a horrible death, and you can't do anything to stop that. I just tought of the same kind of situation, but with any of my parents involved.

That really put me in a state of shock.

When ep2 came out, I quickly went to wikipedia to see if they put some new screenshots or something. And when I typed in "Half Life 2 Episode Two", and one result was "LOL ELI GETS TENTACLE RAPED LOLZORZ OMFG!!!!1111". So I knew what to expect.

I felt exactly the same

I got properly attached to some of the FF characters, and theres a few moments in Mass Effect that had me emotional.

When Eli died i sort of just thought 'oh ***t...', but i didnt cry or anything, though with Alyx's reaction i DID feel sorry for her.

Like I said in one of the other threads, I didn't cry my first playthrough, but I have every time since. The first one I think I was just in too much shock.
