"The Apostasy" is coming...

This is a full length comic that I am trying to put together for monthly release. This is the first 3 pages.

It needs some tweaking, some of the shots on page 3 are not the final screenshots. I usually see what I want to do with some test screens and then go back and do some a bit better. (also, there are a typo and mis-spell on that page)

My plan is to put out one issue a month of about 20-30 pages (like a real comic). The whole thing will be probably in excess of 100 pages (probably more).

I will be using a LOT of Photoshop to do 'tricks' to get the effects I want. I may import scanned pictures for example, or slap in screenshots from other games all together. So please, no 'He Photoshopped it' statements. I am not interested in using the only mod for everything, I'm just trying to tell a story.

I hope you like it as much as I am enjoying creating it.

Let me know what you think.

Cool, man. I liked how it showed the pictures the scanners took. (Y)

Wow, I went into this thinking it was going to be another badly-made Gmod comic, but this is really good looking. I'm actually intrigued, making this the first HL2 comic that I've liked!

Here is an update to pages 1-3, plus pages 4, 5 and the cover of Issue #1.

It should be noted that I have changed the front title logo to this...

Another set will be posted someime mid month. If all goes well (knock on silicon), Issue #1 should be out April 1.

Enjoy!

Get a better attitude. Just because he does things that don't appeal to you, doesn't mean he has no life. :dozey:

Brashfink: This is easily the best-looking Gmod comic I've seen yet. Other than some minor spelling and grammatical errors, which are easy enough to overlook, this is some damn good work. Keep working at it!

set up a webpage, not just on Image shack, cause it's not working for me

EDIT: Image shack worked, this is awsome!

Wow, nice. Never thought or comics as a media for fan fiction. How long does it take you to create a page? What video card are you using? I don't remember having that much detail on my Combine gas masks with my 9800. Meh, maybe it's just a distance thing.

He can't be using Gary's mod for this it'd take hours just to get all that in the rigth position. Hell, it took me 15 minutes one time to figure out how impossible it is to position a gun in a character's hand.

So what are you using? Hammer?

No, I am using Garry's Mod and photoshop. The pages take between 2 - 6 hours to do (depending on what is on the page).

As for the positioning, it is pretty much the most frustrating part, I practiced for about a month before I even attempted to start the comic.

My Video card is an Asus PCI Express that runs the ATI x600 chipset, so while it is higher than your card, it isn't that much higher.

d00d those are from the game at different times, most at the beginning...i think

I am not sure what you mean by this. This is the same scene as the begining, but I posed these characters. This scene takes place at the same trainstation. In my story timeline, it is about one month before the arrival of Gordon.

Here is another 3 pages, they are from a few lages later that the first posts.

Things are "slightly" behind because I had a small battle with my video card drivers which was crashing G-Mod and HL2 both non-stop. I seem to have finally been victorious and can hopefully get back on schedule.

ENJOY!

Hmm... where would those guys find Counter Strike uniforms in a world where the majority of clothing is standard issue? :p

More good stuff with the last update. However, I got a bit confused about who those uniform guys were aligned with until they started shooting. I mean, they're looking at the civilian guys like they're targetting them but then they attack the Combine guys.

They are on their own side, looking out for #1. They live outside they city in the fringes, thus is why they have different clothes. The clothes are meant to be scavenged. Just because the clothes became issued to city folks, doesnt mean that these other clothes were eliminated. You will also notice I photoshop out the us flag and the seal logo on the CT model.
