One of the greatest sporting events on earth and nobody is talking about it? It is the Ashes folks!

For those out of the loop England are playing Australia in Australia in a series of test matches.

First test was a draw with some great batting performances all around and some poor bowling from Mitch Johnson.

Second test has just started and the Aussies are three wickets down in the first half-hour. Wahooo!

WTF are you talking about brah? Pulls up wikipedia...ohhhhh...that. Ghey.

I should add, I guess invictus was an okay movie.

If it makes you feel better I watched cricket this one time in a bar in Austin Texas on ESPN-3. The high school stadium the pros played in was almost half full. Fun times.

You said it, It's like....it IS watching grass grow.

Better than baseball.

Dont get cricket broadcasted in Canada (unless you get Santanta Sports). Wouldnt mind watching a few matches though.

Sorry Evo, I would, but Cricket just makes me frustrated. I don't see the point in sitting around all day, every day watching the same thing over & over. It's bad enough having everyone around me discussing it constantly.

EDIT: Oh my, where are my manners? Go Australia!!!!!one

Except it's not the same thing over and over.

So your point is well missed.

The same argument could, theoretically, apply to any sport in the world. What it's about is appreciating nuance. And Cricket is rife with it.

As far as I'm concerned it DOES apply to any sport. In my opinion they are all boring to watch. Plus (numbers is going to kill me for saying this) I have absolutely no national pride, so even if for example one of our football teams is playing against a foreing team, I still don't give a shit.

I'm not arguing, I'm stating opinion. To me Cricket is watching the man bowl & the other man bat while the other men chase after it. Over & over. The select few sports I do enjoy contain at least a bit more variety than that. But for the most part, as Remus so rightly said, my "argument" does apply to any sport.
