Does anyone know what that might mean? I thought Gordon was headed to Nova Prospekt in the beginning, but Barney stopped him. Was he supposed to start a revolt in the Prospekt, but Barney made changed the whole thing? Or does the quote apply to Barney, and how he was the right man who helped Freeman escape being thrown into jail? :frog:

Gordon Freeman (The right Man) appears in the Combine controlled world at the peak of thier power. (The wrong time.)

he was talking about the first game where you put the gem into the reactor thingy
or maybye u just didn't play the first one

That's a really great insight ricera. Never thought of it that way!

Crystal :p

Gordon just seems to have a habit of being the right man in the wrong place: being in the test chamber that day, killing the Nihilanth, blowing up Nova Prospekt, blowing up the Dark Fusion Reactor...

BTW " all the efort in the world would have gone to waste" is refering to the 7 hour war where the human's hadn't a hope in hell of defeating the Combine, even with Gordon and Adrian and Barney each with super-duper purple gravity guns.

Gordon does seem have a knack at being in the wrong place at the right time... :p

Barney saved him from being sent to Prospekt. And sent him to Kleiner, who then sent him on his way.

I think he means if Barney (right man) hadn't been at the train station that day (wrong place) then all the effort in the world would go to waste (Gordon at black mesa and seven hour war) If gordon was captured and sent to Prospekt, realistically speaking he would have either a, never escaped or b, been executed.

No he is definatley refering to Gordon. Gordon was in the test chamber the day of the accident, right man, wrong place.

Interesting.

Or stalker'fied (most likely)

The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world.
As I can remember when he says that they show the reactor that Gordon operated and that started the whole thing... you figure it out..

I think that we could never understand the real meaning until VALVe will decide to "close" the saga story. maybe when half-life 10 will come in the next 30 years

Let's not forget that Gordon is no longer in his time period, but in the future. His jump forward by about a decade can be interpreted as the wrong place for him as he should be in his own time. But nonetheless he is the right man for the job.

Wait did I miss something? Gordon time-traveled a decade into the future?

Well no offense to Mr. G-Man but not even HE can see into the future. I still think that it had something to do with the original game. be it OF or BS (hmmm sounded kinda wrong) but anyway if g-man can see into the future maybe it has to do with HL3 or Aftermath or any other mods to come out.
