In the book, the 'real' last chapter has Alex still doing business with new droogs but now has a child and he's looking for a mother for his child. He realizes that an adult crime and violence and such were like childhood hobbies. He realizes its time to grow up and become and leave those things behind for good.

I just saw....saw last night, really enjoyed it, and the ending had my mouth open for a while!

I didn't like the pig-faced thing that slinked out of the back of the doctor's car, and that was hiding in Adam's closet ;(

Having just watched "The Godfather" (again) I would say this is the best ending to a movie.
The sinister door closing as Michael assumes total control is superb.
