I know a lot of ppl say "we shud go on a server and play with the physics!" when talking about the first thing they'l do. But i was wondering what you think the best order would be (not the one you'l do, just the best).

I personally think HL1/HL:S/HL2/HL:M/CS/CS:S just so you can see the improvement. (although you might want to mess about with physics first before HL:S).

[and i know CS will probs not be available when CS:S comes out: IGNORE THAT]

What you think?

Single player first since I suspect they have designed the first hour of the game in such a way that it will show off and utilize the physics as much as possible to get you used to actually taking advantage of them. It will probably take most players a little while to get them used to things not being so static which is why they will want to get them up to speed with using them as quickly as possible.

Then after about an hour of two of single player it will be some multiplayer.

I wonder what the HL2 training level will be about, cuz the first one was letting you know how to use your HEV suit and get used to jumping and stuff, maybe this one will have a holographic G-man

So, let me get this streight. You plan to get the game, then take a week to play HL1 again, then another week to play HL:Source, the same game with new textures, then 2 weeks later (maybe later) actually play half life 2.

Seriously, who are you people, where do you live, and what makes you sit down on INTERNET and think that these are good ideas to put in threads. Im sorry if it seems like flaming, but seriously, when your typing this all out, do you think? Or are you just exciting about posting any old crap.

HL2 will be released, people will buy it, then they will play it. Then they will play some multiplayer in between maybe.

I bet its gunna be amlost the same thing except in a diff enviornment. They will probally say, "Well Mr.Freeman your probally rusty so you may want to go through our hazard course". Just for newcommers to the game.

ya - there's an incomplete version in the beta, there's definately alot of new stuf to learn for the gameplay...

Why not just play through Half-Life a week or so before the release of Half-Life 2? It doesn't make a lot of sense to wait until the game comes out to do it.I plan on taking a look at HL: Source after i'm done with HL2 anyways,

This is my perfect order:

Half-Life -> Opposing Force -> Blue Shift -> Half-Life:Source -> Half-Life 2

Throw in mods in at the end if you want.

No thx, people have already spoiled the game too much for me, but thx for the offer........ I think. :borg:

Err, I'll probably just play Half Life 2 single-player, until all my mates are playing multiplayer. Then we'll have a clan server, so it'd be worth getting more into it.

Single player HL2 is the only real interest for me at the moment, although I will no doubt get hooked on the multiplayer element as well.

Why would you play hl1 AND hl:s, there the same game, but Hl:s looks a hell of alot better.

I dont plan on touching multiplayer for awhile, at least not till I've done a good lot of single player.

2 hours of sp, than alot of mp.
That till I finished sp and it will become only mp
