I swear I posted this this morning but I don't know where it is... Anyway... I was saying that I don't know how to remove that stuff.. so if anyone wants to edit it out, be my guest.. Is it a photoshop thing, or some way in the game console to remove the HUD and the health..? and then just dont have a weapon out...?

Personally I thought the crowbar added a cool touch - thats why I have the crowbar out and not some machine gun.
 
Hmm, just noticed the water isn't fresnel'd either- the edges grow darker, not more transparent
 
The Fresnel reflection/refraction is totally there. The edges don't have anything to do with it, the angle you're looking at it does. Since you're looking more directly down at the water toward the bottom of the shot, you see the sand underneath the water better. Just look at the image; you can see the rocks more clearly there.

As for the darkness along the edges of the water, I can't explain that. Perhaps some sort of layer added to make it mesh with land better?
 
You may roll your eyes, but what is that big blue tower? (I'm not a Half-Life player sorry!)

To the poster,

I don't know about the HUD, but if you get the Bugbait and hold it down, then it looks like you have no weapons up.

Dude, I just noticed, right beneath the citadel. It's the overwatch nexus (you know, the old library/museum/whatever with the death ray).

That pic was kinda amazing, still could have been better with some anti-aliasing ( fps does not matter with screen shots :p )
 
It's only a normal screen with a big resolution, nothing amazing. The AA isn't really working (tree) and the water looks like crap. Sorry, but this isn't a good screenshot, or anywhere near a wallpaper (since it includes the weapon and hud).

Also, why's the name of the file PANORAMIC? It's nothing close to that.
 
Great picture, though some subtle problems hinder the wallpaper ability. Still a good picture.
 
you guys realize that as soon as Aftermath is released, all these screenshot wallpapers are going out the window?

Nice pic, but the buildings look kinda odd since the closer buildings are dark and the farthest buildings are so bright... oh yeah,

Theres a way to take the hud and models out. I just forgot how.

Oh, and to the person who asked what the big blue tower was, it's simply a galactically huge cable building. This way, the Combine troops are able to get tv channels from across the globe as well as the ones back at their homeworld. They need some entertainment while they destroy humanity.

.... it's the uh... the citidel.. *hrm*.
 
Man...I want to play HL2 again. That game owned so hard core.

Co-op would own for HL2.
 
I'd use this as my image signature if it weren't for the pesky mods! So much for anyone with dial up!
