Some of the Halo songs I do like...
But most of these options are complete shit anyway. Are these like, the only games you know?
 
The Deus Ex theme reminds me of a typical 80s cop action film :E
 
Favorite game theme song...

there are too many choices to pick one.

I have some favorites, but I have played so many many games and it's been a long time - but in recent memory, I'd have to say Doom 3

I would often hold off starting up the game until after it played my favorite part of the theme song. I must have listened to it a hundred times, and it only seemed to get better every time - an extremely rare quality. I tend to get bored of songs very quickly.

One of the reasons I really like analog music (metal for example) is because of the subtle nuances compared to digital music which is usually very repetitive. Some digital songs you can hear about 20 seconds of, and that basically repeats through the entire song.
 
Half life theme. The Portal one just freaked me out.
 
While didn't enjoy the game, I did often leave DX start screen on,
just so I could listen to the theme, while doing other stuff.

In any case two other games that struck me with really good audio
are Bloodlines and Tenchu.

Needles to say I also loved the mgs theme.
 
Only the Portal and Halo themes above do it for me, though the Halo theme is the only good composition in the game, and it wouldn't be Halo if there weren't a gazillion variations on the theme copied and pasted into every inch of every level.

The Prologue and Prelude are great themes, and I like to hear them revived in the later titles, especially as they usually appear in the end sequence, giving you a sense of completion.

The Deus Ex theme is a decent enough theme. I liked the version in Deus Ex 2 as well.

You are entitled to be of the opinion that other themes are better, but your opinion is wrong.

The thread should be "Second best video game there song" tbh. At least a few other games can give Hell March 2 a run for it's money.
 
I would have voted Portal but I don't really consider Still Alive a theme song. It's a "credits song". So, I voted for LoZ.
 
You know I think this is a good thread all in all. The only problem is I had to add a poll. I should have just put my picks up and let you do the same. Like you are doing now. Sorry but hey I learned something.
 
Stuck between Halo and Zelda, but I gave it up for the hated minority of the forum.
 
Battlefield 1942. Seriously, I would always watch the opening cinematic just to listen to the amazing score. Add in the scenes of nicely animated war, and its one of my all-time favourite openings.

Another one that came to mind was the theme for Condemned. Slightly weird, and you normally dont notice it for a while, but there is actually an "electronic" (dunno how to specify) song that runs for two minutes or so and I enjoyed that too.
 
I liked the 1942 remix for the WWII mod for Vietnam (battlefield games), it was sweet.

I also like listening to any song from within R6: Raven Shield, especially the victory song, makes you feel accomplished.

Shame on you people. Sonic has the best theme music hands down. Which Sonic game? Pick one, they're ALL good. Sonic Boom, in my opinion, is quite possibly the best video game themesong ever.

Before Dreams Come True sat on the rights, maybe. But the original is more of a riff than a full-blown theme.
