I think it pwned the japanese dolphin killers quite nicely.

And while we're at it, dolphins really are much smarter than the average animal. I'd guess something between a dog and a chimpanzee.
I think it's safe to say that carnivorous animals are smarter than the average, thus i don't find it appropriate to equate them to other herbivore animals. A dog is not the same as a chicken (from an intelligence POV of course). I had dogs and i had chickens. Chickens also eat other small animals but it's not their main source of food.

I watched it a few weeks back, very well made documentary. But a few things I didn't quite understand. Obviously the dolphins were killed in an inhumane way, but why is it not okay to eat dolphin meat period, but its okay to other animals? Apart from the high mercury content of the meat, it just felt the protesters were saying 'You can't kill dolphins because they're intelligent.'

My problem with dolphin and whale killing has solely to do with their low numbers.
Their intelligence doesn't entitle them to more privileges than cows IMO.

It's the same reason I'm okay with killing poultry or cattle, but not tigers.

This. I object to the Japanese whalers because they are breaking the treaty they are bound to, hunting in a whale sanctuary.
