To be quite honest I was skeptical about this, however having played it for a solid couple of hours I have to say 2K have done it again. What did others think of this.

I played the demo, so I can only speak to that, but I didn't like it. Maybe I just didn't get the controls, but I thought it just didn't really bring anything new to the table and the graphics kind of left me wanting more. I know the reviews have been pretty darn good so maybe its worth a rental, but I am just not so sure right now. Of course, it was pretty late when I was playing and I was very tired, so maybe a fresh look would be in order as well....

Meh...

I've played about an hour into it and I haven't gone back to it yet. I'm not purposefully avoiding it or anything, but there is no draw. Also, negative points for the heavy metal soundtrack and the stupid, emo-goth protagonist complete with cliched leather trenchcoat and gruff voice. The Darkness itself is cool, but the FPS combat isn't really engaging or as fluid as I'd like it to be.

I won't rate it until I play through it more, if I ever do. But so far I'm not impressed, which is a shame since I loved Escape From Butcher Bay by the same developer.

Im playing it now. About 6 hours in taking my time with the game. Exploring like i always do. Its great so far. A little to easy (Playing on Hard) but its great.

VERY much a Starbreeze game in style and gameplay, I love the feel and the sensation of playing as the demon(s), demo was fun but nothing special imo.

Pretty good

Im still playing it. It has some flaws but its great fun.

One thing that really sticks out is the achevments. I mean they tell you what percent you need etc. Its great detail that every game should have.

On the other hand the game was WAY TO EASY! I'm playing on hard and i have had trouble with 2 areas. Right before you get the darkness powers in the cemetery, and when i went to the otherworld for the 2nd time and fought that huge thing. I'm pretty sure the game bug out on me 30+ tries and this one light doesn't break...

Multiplayer is a laggy chunk of ass though.

Good game could have been better. Some missed opportunities for cool scenes.

Played the demo. I just like the little gremlin-things you can summon. One of them has a minigun and a "Born to Kill" Vietnam helmet, and runs around saying "Yes sir!" and such in a high pitched voice, while another is a suicidal 1920s Russian revolutionary. Brilliance.

Loved the game, only didnt like that they made Tommy a bit more dark than he is in the comics >_> Hell in half the comics I have hes just doing normal mob shit and the darkness ties into all that.

Thought I might as well add my thoughts. I'm about half way through the game at the moment and honestly its absolutly amazing. Its such a well polished game, the animation is top notich as well. Its definatly one of those games where if you take your time its much more rewarding.

People would probably disagree but I would say its got better 'looking' animation than Half-Life 2. I mean, the facial work isn't amazing. But the fact everything is intergrated together so well, no stupid hovering feet or blatently waypointed movments. Even when you go up to someone to execute them and place your gun on there head and blow them away or kick them in the stomach and shoot them in there liver. Its all top notch.

I would give this game a 9/10
