Well it was enjoyable popcorn flick; expect for American president and his wife, these two were super annoying.

Bah, I hate disaster movies. Here is the fomula:

1. Stupid white guy "the hero".
2. White chick who will be a meteorologist/reporter/scientist and predicts the disaster will happen.
3. Black guy who is a firefighter. He usually gets killed in the end.
4. White guy and the chick make out since they are now alone.

Yeah they are all like that more or less and they all suck.

Besides in the end they show something that is supposedly the New York skyline, which doesn't look ANYTHING like the NY skyline. They think the Empire State building has like 40 tall buildings surrounding it. WRONG. It's mostly brownstones that are like 10 stories tall. All the 'skyscrapers' are downtown and in the Park Ave area.

Unless the hurricane rearranged the buildings and stuff, of course, I don't know.

Yes this film is directed by the same guy who directed independence day and godzilla but occasionally Rolan Emmerich has come up with a gem of a film. Anyone out there think Stargate was a bad film? I for one loved it although i dont reckon much to the spin off TV series.

This film can only benefit from the fact that dean devlin no longer produces rolands films as it was him that forced the likes of godzilla and independance day on us all....

seems to me its going to be a disaster movie without the happy smart/brave/patriotic guy/girl saves the world ending to it but instead you get a film where the disaster happens and there nothing anyone can do and much of the film is spent with the characters dealing with it.
