I recently saw The Day After Tomorrow, and I must say it was awesome. Anyways you all have to see it, don't listen to the critics, they're wrong. The whole timeline was good as well. The wolves part was kinda weird and all, but you all should see it. If you've seen TDAT, post what you think of it here. If you haven't, go see it.

I'm probably gonna see Troy first but I dunno, some one who has seen both give some advice.

i haven't seen The day after Tomorrow

but i have seen Troy and it was good :)
if u like cgi, then maybe The day after Tomorrow is the movie for u.. but if action is ur thang, then go check out Troy

I hated Troy. Of course some of the visuals are good, but each time an actor opens his mouth .... I never thought Orlando Bloom could be an as bad actor as this. Even Brad Pit is not good in this one. The director made some very bad desisions making this movie. I recommend it to no one. The Day After Tomorrow looks good. I'll see it this weekend.

The Day After Tommorow was horrible imo. You think if you spent $100,000,000+ on a movie they could atleast have a better plot and better actors. Not to mention that the CG in the movie were horrible. Save your money and avoid this film like the plague.

You were joking right?

The CG in the movie is the only good thing about it. Other than that, it's a whole lot of crap + cliche.

$100,000,000 ?

That's insane! Although if advertising is included in that number then that is understandable. I've never seen a movie advertised so much (I'm talking about TV, Internet, and in Theatres)

I saw Troy a couple of weeks ago (I think..), and I didn't like it that much....it was pretty good, I guess..but not a movie that I'd buy and watch again, like I expected.

I would pick Day After Tomorrow, even though I haven't seen it, I'm sure would like it because I like just about every disaster movie ever, and I love special effects.

Also, CG = ?

i saw it, and like sophie, i thought it was awesome. it could have done without a few bits imo though, like the wolves part, and the love story in the background, great film though, you should all go watch it.

They say that the science behind TDAT is ludicrous. I'm probably going to go and see it if I have nothing better to do.

what other movies do you think rank up against this one in your opinion?

I'm sure you're probably right, but my science teacher was talking about the movie and he said it's just like a worst case scenario if we continue to pollute the planet the way we are.

I think the problem with the science is how fast everything happens. But I think the tidal waves and such are realistic.

im not sure if ive got this right, but i read that its meant to be like 7 (maybe 70) years that it would actually happen over, but theyve made it so it's like 7 days.

CG = Computer Graphics

The opening scence is a perfect example, you can't even look at the movie screen because it was hurting your eyes. They could've spent some time fixing that issue. Plus a lot of the scales they used for the skyscrapers were wrong.

Everything about the movie was bad. The acting, the plot, the characters, the graphics were all horrible.

Mabye i just dowload both,*Looks in my movies folder* w00t I already have The day after tomorrow,

*Gives Cyberniod the finger, and smiles*

God damn. Why does piracy somehow seep in whenever we talk about some form of entertainment?!

Anyway, TDAT has advertisements and bus stop posters in Carlisle, the capital of Cumbria; so they must have been spreading it around a lot. Effects look fairly good, but its clearly a fantasy disaster movie with a vague scientific foothold.

Probably more likely to see the next Harry Potter. I tell you, if I'm going to watch something with the family I don't expect the bloody parents to suggest something I'd have avoided when I was 12...

I saw "The Day After Tomorrow" earlier tonight, and it was great! The CG could be better in some parts, but I just love movies with natural disasters in them, so i forgive the CG, although, it wasn't bad. I've seen worse. This is, in my opinion, the best movie of it's kind.
I liked the part with the choppers freezing in mid air, and those othet 'cold spots'.. :)
I'm glad it's not winter here in Norway.. :)

"Sophie" is one of the many accounts of a guy usually known as Arsenic. And he, in turn, was banned for stealing stuff like artwork, a site design, etc as you can read in this thread.

Okay...lol. I thought Fenric had gone on a crazy banning spree.

the Day after tomorrow was the usual "blockbuster disaster-movie".

Sure, some of the CG sucked, some acting was awful, but it's Hollywood entertainment, what can you expect?

I just want to see Michael Moore's new movie. He won Cannes. "Farenheit 9/11"

And yes, I know someone will start bashing me for this, either "Day after Tomorrow roxs!!!!!" or "Michael Moore suxs!!!"

Actually the term is CGI

CGI = Computer Generated Imagery

Umm, I suppose it's a piece of cake for you to make something like statue of liberty buried under ice on MS paint? Come on...true the opening sequence wasn't that good, and I agree the movie had a bland plot and bad actors, but the CGI was impressive.

I just saw the 4:15 PM showing, and I must say...this movie was AWESOME! I'd even say even better than Deep Impact, Armageddon, and Independance Day...combined! The best parts were: when the massive tidal wave hit NYC (of course), the multiple series of tornadoes that hit LA, and the freezing over of the northern US. I would give it an 8.9/10.

*One minor note: Did anyone else notice how they CG'd in the breath of the actors in the freezing cold? I could kinda tell.

People are far too critical.. the only special effects in the movie that truly sucked were the wolves

Yes, some of the acting was bad, the dialogue was awful, and the plot wasn't all that great, but in the end, I think it was worth the money

Although, parts like outrunning the freezing air and the like were absolutely retarded, it was enjoyable

What made the acting and dialogue so bad?

I don't really think the acting was so bad, moreso the dialogue was awful..

"I'm letting my body heat your body so your heart doesn't give out!" (I know, that wasn't anywhere near what she actually said, but yeah)

It was just.. the character interaction was poor, if you ask me.

Heh! That sounds really.. bad.. I hate movies with bad dialouge and coreographics, if it is bad you easily spot it.. if it's good you don't notice it.. Kinda like what the "God" in Futurama said. :p

I found the acting, dialogue, and character interaction to be spot on. I don't nit-pick a movie just because it had a few bad lines...no movie is perfect. Yeah, it had some funny parts that I thought to be a little too much in a situation like that, but I still accepted it. It's sometimes good for a movie to be well-rounded in all aspects.

It's like I said, I actually enjoyed the movie and I'd recommend it

That's why I'll go check it out later this week. :)

Hmm, I just saw it today. I have to say that I didn't like it at all. I thought it was pretty terrible.

Thank-you, somebody who agrees with me.

According to my knowledge/communication, most of the CG shots were very difficult (water effects, etc).

I rarely hear much about the story though. I don't think I'll watch it in the theatres, because as far as I can tell it's just another Natural Disaster flick, except better CG.

It's not JUST a natural disaster movie. I liked it, but it should have been a bit longer and with more story.

I'm taking a year level trip week after next week to see it. Sounds good hopefully most of the other year 10's will shut up.
