I am buying HL2 from amazon.co.uk at the discount price of 24.99 but would ueually cost 39.99.
What version am i getting SP only, normal or colectors edition?

Cancel it and buy the game from a gamesote so you can be sure.

I mailed them and they told me they were selling just one version of the game, and that as far as they knew it was 'normal'.

By what I understand, the only places with sp-only would be those big stores like Target, Wal-mart, etc., while online stores would have the normal and se versions.

If you live near a Sam's Club (kinda like costco) they NEVER sell out of games, evey game that sold out on the first day never runs out of stock at sams club. I bought Vice City there the day it came out after school, and every game store said they would have it back in stock in a week or two. Went to sams club, they had about 30 on the shelf. I love you Sam's Club.....

You get the SP+MP version. I think the just-SP-version will come out some weeks after the 'normal' version.

ive got £150 on me plus an extra £90 next week

so £240

-100 for a radeon 9600 pro

-30 for Homeworld 2

-30 for Halo

with £80 left for Half life 2

depending on the content of the colectors edition i might get it.

I'm pretty sure the SP-only version will be available retail only. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to sell a package primarily designed for people with no net connection ONLINE. It's for bargain stores, not for enthusiasts.
