The easy way to kill manhacks

[Revenge]

Pull out your grav gun, hold down mouse2 and aim at the nearest manhack. It'll eventually fly straight into your grasp, at which point you aim at the nearest wall or floor and fire it. The manhack splatters instantly, and you can do this quickly enough to kill 2 or so per second if they are close enough!

Also, while you can't pick headcrabs up, you can still blast em with the primary fire of your grav gun, which saves on ammo.

Bit of fun with man hacks... try and trap them in various places. Pick up a radiator and ram them into a wall and hold them there. It's hard, but funny. I had one stuck underwater under some railings, wasn't going anywhere, I got a pik sumwhere. It's quality how what uv got in ur hand/physgun interacts with the world. IE u can deflect man hacks with a barrel in ur hand. Bonus.

The "catch a manhack with zero point field manipulator" was in Codename Gordon. Now all we have to speculate is that which one had it first, Codename Gordon or Half-Life 2

Problem of course being you don't get the gravity gun till "chapter 5 - black mesa east" and the first enounter with manhacks is in "chapter 3 - route kanal".

Once you have the gravity gun they hardly show up really, which is a dissapointment.

As for before you get the gravity gun, what's so hard about getting your crowbar and smacking them about? It's loads of fun.

as I've stated in a previous thread, try doing it on hard :|

when theres 7 of them attacking you at once it's a pain in the ass.

Yeah, even in hard! Just don't let them hit you. I honestly didn't find them that difficult to deal with near the beginning, you just had to be quick.

Pssk. The easiest way I found to defeat them is a bit of a cheat (i.e. stand near the cage door so they dont feel the need to fly over it and whack them one by one).

Either that are move quicky defeating one at a time.

Whne theres 7 of them attacking you in one go (ala the room full of explosive barrels) they seem to 'nip' at you and then move backwards slowly killing you off.

I got a huge kick out of capturing them with the GG and then flinging them into the Overwatch soldiers.

I love the Manhacks. I think it was the Route Kanal, I walked into a room full of them (no, not the one with the barrels you explode). I was low on ammo, but was able to get several Manhacks with minimal shots. Then I hear "ammunition depleted," and I am holding my trusty crowbar. This thought immediatley shot through my mind: "Oh shit! Well, Batter up!"

I find fighting against manhacks in Route Canal one of the hardest moments in the game. You don't have the shotgun or the manipulator yet, and, playing on hard, two shots with the crowbar won't kill them, while they deal very good damage. It's really hard.

For me, it was all about the crowbar. Nothing like hitting one "out of the park," watching it fly realistically back several yards as it changes color, then come whipping back at you for the death blow.

havn't tried it, or even thought about it until now, but can you grav gun grab a manhack and use it to hack up a combine soldier? Like, mouse2 it, run up to a soldier and watch as he gets sliced up? That would be fun =P

it works but they dont fall to pieces
