When I try to get in the HL2 forum, it comes up with this message:

Why?
 
they did it to prevent you from getting spoiled from a spoiler attack, even though they are posting spoilers in this forum too. attn shitheads: stop clicking mysterious links or I will post-natally abort you with a hatchet
 
There were some spoilers in there. Im guessing they're cleaning it up right? Wow im glad to know the ending now though because of some prat... :hmph: well part of it anyway. I won't be coming back to these forums till its out. Yes i know no one made me look at the post - but the spoiler was in the thread title.

No one repeat it here if they saw it obviously - eg "oh you mean the post that said....." cus that would put you in the same pile of tits too. - dont assume everyone saw it.

Wow im pissed, id hate to have to be a mod here and have to clean it up - keep up the good work guys.
 
I hate spoilers, I hate people that post them, what a way to ruin a game.
 
it's as much the person clicking the link's fault as it is the maker of the spoiler script - people have been warned and warned again not to click on shifty links :flame: :flame: :flame:

note: I'm talking about the link within the spoiler posts that infect you, not the actual thread links (I know about the tooltips issue)

How did that happen? From my understanding, you must have clicked on a spoiler link for that to happen.

I can't believe people still click these links when they're so ****ing obvious like having a halflife2 sentence part of the url etc when it's got nothing to do with HL2..

Anyone can go into IRC and claim that the spoiler link is a gold announcement or release date confirmation, and people start clicking frantically without realising.
 
I am pretty certain now that alot of the spoilers (although not all of them) were fake. So you may not have had as much spoiled as you might think.

And I am not saying this to make anyone feel any better, this really is what I think.

I don't think you should be mocking those who did click it, as Badger just pointed out, it was disguised.

I dont know tbh we can block the urls as they appear but I guess we can have him check the naughty script itself.


As for badger - oh pish no need to leave for a few days shit happens. It's not like it was a deliberate act
