The above image is of Jason Alexander and Cheryl Hines in makeup for the upcoming live action/cgi adaptation of Fairly Odd Parents. Here is the basic premise from reuters:

The kids channel has greenlighted a live-action/computer-animated adaptation of its hit toon "The Fairly Odd Parents," starring Drake Bell ("Drake and Josh") as a twenty something Timmy Turner who's still in the fifth grade because "Da Rules" dictate that godchildren lose their fairies when they grow up.

Set to premiere next year, "A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!" also stars Daniella Monet as Tootie, Jason Alexander as Cosmo, Cheryl Hines as Wanda and Steven Weber as Hugh J. Magnate.

Really? I mean, its not like a movie was needed, but couldn't they have at least made a movie that was more of a reboot/retelling? I dunno. After seeing the Yogi Bear and Smurfs trailers, this is just too much.

Ew. This is one of the last cartoons I can think of that needs a live action movie. Also, the premise sounds awful.

Cartoon movies worked fine. Keep it that way.

Because tinyurl is incredibly secure and you always know what you're clicking on before you click it and there's no chance that it could redirect you to malware or a dodgy page or etc etc

People don't enable the preview feature still?

It's the greatest thing to come out of tinyurl since the site was made.

Makes sense.

As a side-note, does it ever get tiring having to add those font codes all the time?

Stupid as this movie will be, I have to say that this is some quality Wanda and Cosmo cosplay.

Jason Alexander...what have you done to yourself....

Good God. First they ruin my childhood. Now they ruin my young adulthood...

I hate the idea that they are making a movie on this, especially one that is live action. But couldn't they have at least made Cosmo and Wanda fully cgi and use the original voice actors? At least it would have some a slight similar/nostalgic feel to the original series. Granted I was already in high school when the show aired, but I still found it really funny most of the time.

No matter how bad it is, this is still intriguing.

I do think that FOP is definitely much different than most cartoons that get the live action treatment (thus having some interesting potential), but I still see it being yet another failed attempt, just like The Flintsones, Dudley Do Right, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Garfield, Marmaduke, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Richie Rich, Dragonball, The Last Air Bender, Fat Albert, Inspector Gadget, Mr Magoo, Popeye, and Underdog.

WHAT?!

Why do we need a live adaptation of The Fairly Odd Parents?! I see no reason for it. The beauty of the show is that it's so off the wall, over the top, so goofy that it works quite well without having to resort to forced humor! And it works so well because it's an animated show. A live action movie would kill off so much of the humor, IMHO. I just can't see this show working as a live action adaptation. Not to mention, based on past experience, movies based off of animated kids shows have poor scripts, with poor writing backed up by poor acting.

They really should have left this as an animated show and not live action.

What the hell is this shit?

What is next, Ed, Edd, and Eddy live action? - though it would be interesting how they would stay true to their "Is the guy drawing the lines on ecstasy or something?"

I saw the Flinstones movie in the theaters when I was 11. I loved it. Didn't see it again until a couple years ago and realized its pretty bad. It did do a good job visually, all the costumes and characters and environments were spot on. Not the worst I've seen, but still pretty bad.

Wtf is The Fairly Odd Parents?

Don't you people have hair on your genitals yet?
