The dreaded double click.

Why do all my mice eventually have this fatal problem?

I can't possibly believe it's always to do with a malfunctioning micro switch. It happens in all my mice...

I've bought like 10 or more mice, some cheap(that worked incredibly well), some expensive that worked equally as well and all end up having this dreaded double click problem.

What can I do?

In case you don't know, the double click problem is where I click the mouse once physically, but it is interpreted as a double click and can be more annoying than anything you will possibly ever know in your life.

I am willing to bet my life savings that this entire thing, is some sort of scam conspiracy to sell more units to repeat buyers.

Why do I think that? Once I had three difference mice starting to do this at the same time. Mine, my brothers, and my dads... within a week of each other.

I've had that problem before and it is pretty f*cking annoying. Luckily, I found it would stop once I restarted. I can't quite remember what the problem was, either I left the computer on too long or I kept hibernating instead of properly shutting down.

I sometimes get it when my mouse have been tossed around or physically dropped in anyway. But it eventually goes away.

My roomate had this problem for awhile. He just got another mouse. But maybe you could just adjust the time required for it to register a double click to be just a slight bit longer and that would fix it?

This.

You also could change your settings so highlighting an icon you just have to click once to open it.

I've never had that problem, but I did have a mouse do the opposite before. I wore it out so that it was really difficult to get it to click, especially a double click.

They have $5 mice like a Rosewill at www.newegg.com. 5 star rating. My mom got one. I could swear it's the best feeling mouse I've used. Just buy a half dozen of them.

I'ev got a Logitech 518 and I love it. Haven't had any problems, except that I wish it was 1800 DPI by default.. and the paint is wearing off... and the hologram style of it is ugly.

I used to have this one mouse that I had for like 3 or 4 years and this "double click" problem you speak of never happened. You probably have AIDS or something.

And my mice are contracting it from me through skin on plastic contact?

Oh my god new dancing cow avatar OH MY GAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWD

This is creepy, upon reading this thread my mouse at work started doing this. A restart did indeed fix it, though.
