I just finished watching this movie. It was completely amazing. I can't even compare it to any other movie I've seen. It's radically different and beautiful. If you haven't seen it, watch it.

Been meaning to rewatch this. Visually stunning and thematically powerful, but honestly the plot was a little lost on me and it seemed to end abruptly. I was watching it with friends though so I may have been a little distracted, will have to see if subsequent viewings clear things up.

None of it really came together for me until the end... and the explosive visuals at the end coincided directly with my realization of what was going on.

I've decided that it's not really designed to have a real concrete "This is what happened" story, but more of an "open to interpretation" theme. Nothing is explicitly stated at any point and I think that's what I like about it so much. It's like the whole "what did he say" thing from the end of Lost in Translation, but an entire movie.

It was suggested for me on Netflix like 40 times then I finally gave in. Makes me want to give in to more Netflix suggestions.

Yes, it's a very good film, but it's certainly a case of not living up to its thematic potential.

I think Samon and I have agreed on this since I first posted my review in the discussion thread. It's an amazing film; but I see the potential to be something much greater.

Pretty much what Samon and Qonfy said. But considering I saw it in the theaters without knowing anything about it, I came out very impressed.

I cried when Hugh Jackman Cried. That doesn't usually happened to me

I didn't cry, but did do a man swallow. Hugh Jackman really is superb in The Fountain. Rachel Weisz is good too, and she's a slammin hottie.

Excellent film, I honestly give it a 10/10 (there are weak parts but overall it's a stunning, stunning piece of work). I grasped at the themes and meaning behind the movie when I first saw it in theaters but it took 4-5 watches for me to fully understand it. At least I think I do now. Samon/Qon, what sort of potential do you think it failed to fulfill? I thought its thematic impact was pretty sincere and massive to boot.

love, dual nature of reality, life/death, man/woman etc, impending death not only thematic in its own huge terms in the film but also symbolic of universal rebirth etc etc ETC

I've had this one sitting on the HD for a while, I had forgotten about it. D:

I'll see it maybe tomorrow. Or even tonight.

I watched it in the dark alone late at night / early in the morning. I wish I had watched it on a bigger TV but... it was the best setting. I was just focused on the movie. I ****ing love the lighting scheme so much. It makes me want to trade in all my CFL lights for yellow incandescent bulbs.

I found it on the cable in the middle of the day and was amazed at what I had stumbled upon. Good movie to spur thinking.
