Hey, does anyone have a location on the gnome? I just can't find him for the life of me!

EDIT: Also, pictures or it didn't happen.

Under a table in the corner (on the generator side) of the room, within the building where you send/receive the first transmisson to white forest. This is the small shack after you first encounter hostile forces, (some zombies, followed by a few antlions killing more zombies). If you still are confused, remember the 'puzzle' where Alyx climbs up and fiddles with some wiring, knocking a giant plug loose, which you plug in to power the monitors and transmission equipment. Magnusson is introduced here.

If a tree falls in a forest, and no one takes a picture of it, did it happen...?

Still, does valve expect us to carry that Gnome through around 4hours of game play, including antlion nest, combine assaults, races and the rest of the driving, is that gnome not like an easter egg, like 'you'll be seeing him again...' and is he not near white forest...

You don't need to take it into the antlion nest. Just drop it off at the elevator, you're coming back up later. Try to shoot it over to the bridge in the area where you're getting the car. The combine assaults, just drop it off someplace, kill 'em all, and get it back before moving on.

The only tedious part is in the car

I did it today with a mate sitting next to me giving advice on how to do it. With the first helicopter scene we cleared out the obstacles and circled back to get the gnome. Gnome boy doesn't jump around too much when driving in a straight line.

Was checking these forums to see if there are any other gnomes besides the two (yes two) i've found but reading this I take it you guys haven't found the second one.

It's in the place where you get the car, where Alyx is shooting zombies with the sniper rifle. It's in the control room there (you reach it before you go down and can access it again once you've jumped the car over the bridge).

I'll post a screenshot in a few minutes with the exact location.

Okay so uh, after searching around for it a bit, I can't seem to find it where I remember it being. I was confident I had found two gnomes, but after thinking about it a bit I can see why Valve wouldn't put more than one.

Current theory: On some late night binge after playing for far too long, I went back to the early stages and found the gnome, and then somehow convinced myself I had found more than one.

Sorry for the false alarm guys. And um, glad to have joined the forum.

Edit: Just stressing again that right now I just have absolutely no faith in my own memory, so it might be possible that it IS true, I just honestly don't know. You can try searching around in lockers around the game.
