The Grades Are In

Obama is charismatic and good at riling people up/speeches but he's a junior congressmen with crap policies. He's better suited as a lobbyist than a politician.

What are his policies. Because policies being 'crap', depends on where you're comming from in allot of cases, like for instance i think Bush's foreign policy is 'crap', you know what i mean?

Bush probably just paid his teachers off and they had to give him just an alright mark or else it would be evident of what occured....bush is retarded. And that my friends, is a fact.

Whatever smarts Bush had back then must have been destroyed by years of alcohol and cocaine abuse.

Now about Kerry. Only Kerry and his professors know why he got low scores his freshman year. When I was a freshman in high school, I got really bad grades. I did straighten up the following years though. It seems Kerry did straighten up too.

Bottom line: Kerry is a smart guy. He speaks eloquently amd sounds as if he knows what he's talking about. Even if he is bullshitting, he knows how. :p Kerry got to where he is now because he has some common sense and know how.

Bush on the other hand speaks like a country bumpkin and makes almost no effort to better his speech. If Bush doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, it clearly shows through. Bush got to where he is by his money and connections.

Doesn't that kind of make you really really dumb, I mean you have the skills to be a good student and get a good job, now you'll just fry burgers

ACTUALLY... the only time I "fry" anything is when I'm about to eat it... I joined the Air Force and got myself a Top Secret security clearance... Without any other skills, I can be hired for $80k a year by companies like Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics once I decide to leave the Air Force.

HOWEVER, as it happens, I am a fairly proficient .NET developer... so add that to at least 4 years of military service, plus all the certs I have gotten and will be getting for training, AND my TS clearance, and I'm gonna be a hotter hire than any punk coming out of college with a 4 year B.S in CS.

Want fries with that? :bounce:

Derek Obama(sp?). I read about him once in Time, a while back now i think. Is he all that Time cracked him up to be? Someone from who is loved by both red and blue alike, smart, energetic, and sincere? They say potential president.
Obama is a great guy that will one day lead the Democratic party and probably the country. Problem with him for the 08 election is that he is way too young.

BTW I graduated High School at the age of 16, a 4 hour test that took me 2 hours to finish..
I could be wrong but it sounds like you didn't graduate; instead you got your GED.

I'm not messing, what he posted sounds like he got his GED, not graduated. This is not to say that all people that finish school at 16 didn't graduate, as in your case.

If someone joins the military with dreams of rolling in cash, then they are seriously mistaken. However, people can use the military to get their education, or security clearances, or certifications, or training classes, etc, etc... then they get out into the private sector as a civilian and make lots of money, plus they have the honor of having served their country.

Thats pretty exciting stuff there DreamThrall, what with your TS clearance and such. Im looking for a career in the FBI/CIA and hope to rise through the ranks some day :D Do you know anything about the FBI or the related intelligence fields?

Yes, shoot two children and your in.

Crap in my view because they're just grand extensions of past liberal fallacy and Democrat splurging. Some people like that stuff though ;p.

Not at all... my job has absolutely nothing to do with intel. Sorry :| Although, if you're interested in the FBI/CIA, the military (I'd recommend the Air Force) is a great place to start. If you're fluent in more than one language (especially arabic, russian, etc), you can be an interpreter... I don't know what other intel-related career fields there are, but I'm sure you can look it up.

Hey now, I don't want you getting the idea that I'm some kinda slacker. Well, not anymore at least. I've had to work pretty hard while in the military teaching myself and applying myself at various programming languages, not to mention the crazy shifts I've been on at some points.

The only ways I know of where anyone gets a free ride is by having lots of money in the family to begin with, winning the lottery, or being extremely lucky. I consider myself lucky that I found a girl who made me want to clean up my act and enlist, because otherwise I'd probably still be stoned and working at the same pizza joint and living with my parents.

What branch are you in and what do you do? I am planning on going into the Air Force.

you sir are 95% correct..I have my C.H.S.P.E.(C.alifornia H.igh S.chool P.roficiency(sp?) E.xam)..around here it counts for the same thing, meaning I got my diploma at 16..which to me says graduated! :smoking: ...hell they called my name at the grad ceremony, doesn't that count?

I have some college under my belt (ages 17-19) as well and now I am doing the home study thing for my A+ certificate and soon some kind of programming (not sure exactly what kind yet) certificate..

but these last few weeks have been taken up by filming for the TV show in my sig...

Air Force... and my original career field is what is called "Tech Control".. mostly dealing with configuring big network switches and routers, and long haul circuits, WAN technology, etc.

HOWEVER, what I am doing NOW is operating VTC equipment and web development in ASP.NET. I'm also considering cross-training into being a systems programmer. If you want to get into COMM, My AFSC is 3C2X1... if you're looking for System Administration, that is 3C0X1, and programming is 3C0X2. PM if you've got any more questions :)
