Would anybody be interested?

In reading/writing a sort of games magazine for halflife2.net... this isn't official or anything, I'm thinking of chatting to admins etc...

When I say magazine, I mean more of an online one, but you know. Just writing interesting articles and stuff, about games, reviews and mod stuff too.. :)
 
Abom, we could make a sticky, and people could send us articles and we could post them in there :D

EDIT: Mr Reak... do you mean you can't write in english or...
 
I think that could work, but i reckon it would be better for it to be done on its own page in Halflife2.net. Then you could have it looking like an actual magazine...even though its just a little online thing :)

Hmm, yeah. A community magazine would be pretty good, actually.
 
Yea id be intrested. Thats actually a great idea, modders could send in articles they have written about their mods same thing for mappers.

Interesting...

This reminds me slightly of what they have at the verc collective. People can submit tutorials, and they get posted on the site.

I mean, English is my second language and I always make a lot of grammatical mistakes.

Well, that all depends on what munro says really. I mean, we could make a sticky, but we couldnt make our own page.
 
well, when the CMS is up, we'll pester Munro about getting a subdomain.... until then it would have to be a Sticky... we could grab links and stuff to help people.

In fact, I've been chatting to Abom, and (his idea was the subdomain) he'll be doing FPS news/reviews with me doing some of that as well...

I'm going to scour the net for some good looking mods to spotlight for the first feature :)
 
seen all of these before, I'm looking for mods that aren't just for HL2, I'm looking for mods that people would like to play NOW! :D

Ummm red orchestra is about to be released on the 15th. If i can help ya out in anyway id be glad too. I think some ut2k3 mod is being released today hold on ill try to find it.

This page needs something more than it has anyway. HL2 mod reviews would be excellent... Of course, with any other mod too, but this IS after all a HL2 page :)
 
Interesting.... seems different to me :)

anyway.... I'm beavering away on a spotlight on: Realism in mods... which I hope will be met with approval :)
 
Badger: I'm sure myself, SGT_Igneri, and dawdler if he want's to could contribute a hareware section/ buying guide....

At present the staff are: Abom|nation, and me, but with others on the way ;)

By the way, what do you think of a 'blast from the past' idea... where we recommend an old game you simply must play?
 
I'd be interested in doing some stuff for it.....like a inteview section or something....maybe a section thats dedicated to the forum memebers, like interviews, or something, you know to bring the community closer...
add as you see fit
 
yeah, I like the idea of interviewing community members.... ok, well I'm off for a while now, reachable by PM :)
 
I'd like to welcome aboard: DarkelP :)

He'll be doing RTS-related stuff, and maybe some general web-related updates :)

Anyway, I'm planning to interview a May community member, and any people who would be interested... please contact me via PM :) (May members ONLY please ;) )

Still a lot better then most the people on AOL though.......way better....
 
Hey MeatLoaf.... ain't seen you around in a while... :)

Anybody who wants to write, PM me, and talk about what you play.... etc

FPS, RTS and Mods are taken, still up for grabs are RPG, Online, Forum news (I hope Mitoboy would like to take this position) and a few more ;)
 
I wouldn't mind doing something for the magazine.But the problem is that I'm not a good writer. :(
 
This sounds like a really good idea. I was wondering if you want this to be the official HL2.net newsletter where members sign up and it gets sent to their e-mail? Or will it be posted up on the website for people to read?

Anyway ya I would be interested. I'll PM you once I have some ideas of what I could write about. :)
 
Well, once the site gets back to normal and everything, I'll have a good ol' chinwag with one of the admins... and see what happens, either of those things would be good.

Team stands at:
Me, Abom, Darkl, Sidewinder, Sgt Igneri, and with a few others pending evaluation :)
