When does this take damage, and when doesn't it? In HL1, sometimes the suit would be hurt, sometimes it was your health. I could never figure out when each would happen. I know that walking aroudn radiation would hurt the suit. Your thoughts?

And also, in the name of all things sacred, can someone change the color scheme back? I've had enough of this safari. I think the old ones were easier to read, and didn't make you feel like a poacher.

Illegal Amigo, it is now possible to specify which colour scheme you would like.

Find the drop down box at the bottom of this page and select the Blue Style

I think ur health will decrease depending on the type of attack/ammo the opponent is using and also depending on where you are hit. The HEV doesnt have a helmet, so head and partial neck shots will decrease your health. Melee attacks probably decrease your health, and bullets will decrease both, but probably take more out of your HEV than your health. Also, armor piercing bullets and etc, am sure you get what i'm saying.

Whenever you were exposed to an environmental problems, it seemed, the HEV suit would take damage. This could be fire, cold, radiation, electricity, etc. Whenever you got hit by an enemy, your health would go down. At least thats what I think, been awhile since I've played.

It just depends on suit charges. If your suit is charged, your suit takes the damage.

maybe armour takes a percent of the damage that would be done (with bullets and certain attacks) to the health and reduces the armour by that amount.

I always payed close attention to this, and I have come to the following conclusion:

The HEV suit absorbs all damage inflicted to it, except the following:

Drowning
Falling

It seems that the HEV doesn't take the damage from common sense health draining problems, like drowning or falling. If i remember correctly, all other type of damage were absorbed by the HEV, with some special ammunition splashing over to health a bit.

I believe that the more suit power you have, the stronger the protection is. In other words, 100 HEV will protect against a lot of damage, where 20 HEV would only provide a portion of the protection.

The blue scheme is purely awesome. Thanks for that, Chris, otherwise I'd of never known

The HEV-suit doesn't have a helmet? Then howcome he sees the displays on the screen? Through his glasses?

It does have a helmet, but Gordon can't figure out how to use it because it is 'voice activation only'.

Gotta love teh helmet! Thanks for the info about the schemes Chris.

As far as I know, armor in Quake-engine games simply absorbs a portion of most damage (there are of course exceptions). It doesn't matter whether you have 50 armor or 100, the same amount will be drained.
