We all know that some of the e3 vids were scripted. We also know that valve doesn't want to release any more videos, because they don't want to spoil the actual game.

So...

Why don't they release the SAME vids but with full ai/graphics/etc, or with other gameplay?

What do you think of it?

p.s.: I emailed this to Gabe a few days ago, but theres no chance of a reply...

or.. how about releasing the buggy, techdemo and strider scenes in bink? :)

I dunno, I'd rather have those than the same stuff we've seen, only slightly different, with fsaa/af running

Then again, I'd love to see the hdr bink in more detail

Here's a thought!

I don't care anymore!!!!!!

weeeeeeeeeeeeeee

All vavle employees are unavailable to comment as they are currently trapped in burlop sacks in a secret room at Valves offices being beaten by Gabe

i voted..cool but doubt it....i want the rest of bink vids...anything screenshots or concept art

I'd be surprised if they'll release anything new until very close to the release, maybe even after it's been released. The hackage sent them into full security lockdown or something.

I still like the idea.

Heres another thought ...

Release the game already.

Yeah to be totally honest I think it's a stupid idea... but thats just my opinion.

Interesting you say that when your sig says don't whine :hmph:

Oh yeah: Exactly what was scripted?

Good the idea is, but chance of happening there is none.
Check my Yoda style!

we've been through this before.. basically E3 scenes were scripted so Valve could ensure what they wanted people to see happened instead of spending forever trying to make the perfect demonstration video using events that are random, that would take ages to get right, much simpler to just script some stuff.

Now lets never speak of this again hehe

I think they should release new media just before the game is released, which they will. That way we will be able to tell when it's going to be released.

It would be nice to get the remaining bink videos before Christmas.

Just summat I noticed in the 600 vid; the buggy scene there's what appears to be an oil pipeline right at the start. Could the Combine be invading for oil? And where have I heard that plan before?

And I hate to speak of this again (the scripting, that is) but does that mean that - except for Barricade, which is where it REALLY mattered - the vid isn't representative of the game?

Successfully bringing politics into threads it doesnt belong since July 2003.

I agree with this: Release the game or a demo already.

That's a railroad.

Probably...

The physics are all correct , the AI is the only thing scripted , I dont think it was fully coded (Alpha player).

I think it was scripted just to make sure things happened the way Valve wanted them to happen in the videos, in a way that indicates what the game will be like. Because of the cool physics engine and incredible AI it gives gunfights and stuff somewhat of an open-ended nature, meaning that it needed to be scripted for the videos so it would happen just right. But rest assured that the way everything was scripted is entirely possible in the game itself.

Anything new would be good. A few words about what is happening at Valve HQ right now (besides the obvious off course). Just a strand of info ...

What do scripted sequences and physics have to do with the releasing of the bink vids? Unless you guys get this back on topic, I'll be closing this later tonight.

WTF is the **** all about? Have I missed something?

Someone has masked the word "t h i s" I'm just sorting this out now.

Doh!!

yea i noticed that just today...hehe...someone sounded like they had t h i s and when it masked it...im like...what could be there?...heeh...now i know...hopefully its fixed....let me try This

A conversation sort of stagnates if everyone just gives their view on the original topic and the conversation is not allowed to evolve. Lighten up.

I can see your point. I just don't want this to get "too far" off-topic. Understand?

uhhh i dont think the reason valve are holding off on the last 3 videos has to do with spoiling hte game, since they ALREADY showed these clips and everyone has seen them
