While it might be a little late compared to last year, the Compendium for The International 2014 tournament has been revealed and is now available on the Dota 2 Store for $9.99 / £5.99.
Similarly to last year, purchasing a Compendium will increase the prize pool for The International tournament while also providing rewards as new milestones are surpassed. Valve are promising even more rewards this year, all of which are listed in the spoiler tab below. We will strike off each goal once it has been reached.
Compendium Rewards
As you may have noticed, a new Scoring System has been put in place to allow Compendiums to "Level Up" as a player contributes towards the prize pool and complete a series of new "Compendium Objectives", which expand upon the voting and Fantasy Dota system implemented last year.
Every 100 points will level up a Compendium, providing accessed to additional rewards such as regular "Immortal" item drops, the "Lieutenant Squawkins" International courier, an increasing percentage for the "Evolving Battle Point Booster", various custom visual effects including modified teleport and base healing effects, and new appearances for the Bottle, Blink Dagger, and Dagon. Points can also be purchased for various prices, a system which also helps to expand the overall prize pool. The full list of the ways you can receive points for your Compendium is available in the spoiler tab below.
Compendium Objectives
Be sure to head on over to the Dota 2 Store to pick up your 2014 Compendium as soon as possible. More details on this year's book are also available on the official announcement page. At the time of writing, around 5 hours since the Compendium was revealed, the prize pool has already surpassed half of what it reached last year. How high can it reach this year?
