Hi all Modders and Modplayers.

I´d like to introduce our Halflife 2 Modification IDF which
is more or less in development since 3 years.
We worked a long time on our concept, thought in many different
directions and now we are ready to lift off in the development
of the mod. The Team is a small group of dedicated modders.

About the IDF

The IDF is the last bastion of the human race in a battle against a
alien race which likes to infiltrate the earth and wants to
use the earth as a plantage for their energy source called vril.
The IDF is an army which was founded in the years after the crashes
of aliens in Rosswell and somewhere in Russian. The main goal of this army
is to rescue human lifes and defend the earth against attacks from outer
space. Its a secret army that operates in case of emergency.

2030 the earth is attacked by a alien race called the borrok and
in a hard and bloody combat the IDF has to recover the earth.

In this fight the Soldiers and Commanders ( like the player )
have to use a manifold of weapons to recapture citys like tokio or
paris. Also some secret facilitys are setting of combat.

thats a small overview of our repertoire.

because of a lack of members we search for Modlers ( charakter statics
and other stuff ), Texture Artists ( textures for maps or skins for models ),
Animators (for charakters/aliens and weapons or vehicles), importers for
vehicles and sound engineers. If you are interessted and perhaps do
not know if you are good enough dont be shy and contact me under

requirement you have to fullfill is that you have to be dedicated and really
interessted in working on a mod for about 1 to 2 years or longer. ( depends
on how many members we get and how dedicated you work )

That Bionicle looking guy towards the end is cool. :)

Anyway, sounds like an X-Com sort of setting. Pretty neat :)
 
It does look cool, but it has that forward pistol grip and computer thingy so far up the barrel, as if it was in a bullpup configuration, but then has the folding stock and the trigger on the rear pistol grip. At first I thought I would get mad trying to read the computer display so far up, but then I remembered that it's just a game and I shouldn't read so much into the models.

I can't wait to blast some aliens!
 
Yeah, absolutely. The last gun... wow :eek:. It's freaking... oh lord, I want to fire it soo baaaad.
 
nice to hear that you guys like our Assault Rifles Model 3 but
i have only one application yet and i am waiting for some modlers
or 2d artists who like to work for our mod.

Little, but steady progress.

Since, currently, most of us do not have the time to work much at the IDF
Mod, we are running it at a low flame these days.

Nevertheless, there is something that can be shown since our last news.
We would like to present new pictures of our IDF interior with some fresh
materials for our IDF Corridors, before our mapper will add havoc and
destruction into the map.



IDF offices with different tables and other props. (no final skins, of course):
But the tables won't be the only furniture. Many other office furniture will be
added to increase the atmosphere.



Underground IDF-Track for testing vehicles: In the Map, you will be able to
testdrive the first of our implemented vehicles, the Wheeltank called Cat.
This parcour will have some obstacles to drive around and some enemys to
drive over.



Hangar update with better light and more props (again, final textures are still
missing): The purpose of this big hangar is to maintain and repair the Cat.
And as soon as the enemy is modeled and animated, this room will feature a
big fight of our hero with them.




Perhaps, you would also like to listen to examples of our music. Here are two

What else can be said? Two new weapons are ingame, a combat knife and a
heavy handgun, but that is probably not worth a picture. Naturally, our
ammunition display is already working with them (At least with the handgun,
of course...)
Besides that, our IDF Trooper model, although his skin still needs to be
finished, is rigged and ready for animating. We hope to get him into the game
soon. Furthermore, we have coded a healthsystem, that works with a first
person "health gun". More about that feature in the future, when we have
implemented a model for it and its usage will be more obvious.

good job i know how hard it can be when people have things to do in there real life, but this mod is looking l33t!
