for anyone whose downloaded this mod, have you tried the canisters? I shoot mine and all they do is stay in the same place. Anyone know why this is?
 
ent_create_cannister 2000 30. ((Rather fast))
500 is for slow moving things...1000 is a standard 1000-2000 is what i find optimized. To make vehicles i find you need more under the hood 3000-5000 and if you want it to fly its about 5000-10,000 ((Though 10,000 is overkill even with 1 cannister...it goes insane))

If your canister is standing straight up, it isnt going to go anywhere because the thrust comes from the tip that you shot.
Try knocking it over after shooting it.

You can set the thrust to a negative number, and it fires the other way i think.
 
Really? Wow thats cool! I always wanted to do that cuse its way easier to glue the bottom than the top
 
when i try to use this mod i cant load any levels. i know its supposed to say that maplist.txt is mising but when i try to changelevel it says "Can't changelevel, not running server" anyone know what to do?
 
I got this installed and working correctly, but welding is rather complicated, especially on the buggy. Could you make a tut on "How to weld"?

How to weld:
Okay there are basicly a few concepts to welding..
First of all lets start with a few basic things to get you ready:
First of all load up any level you like type in sv_cheats 1 then type in
give weapon_physcannon. impulse 101 isn't necisary...Also for extra fun you can do give weapon_stickylauncher, but I am only going to cover the physcannon.
Now lets see...First obviously you put glue on both objects...Now I recomend that if you are gluing round or big objects you put them close together before applying glue, or it's going to get messy...
There are 2 commands you need to know to be succesful
phys_autoattract- okay this can be handy for putting together boxes and such since they fit pretty well...It also can come handy on organic objects...Though when you are doing larger objects I recomend to have this off...Or it can screw you, also I find it better to glue organic objects with this off , as it can crash your PC and it can also misplace your glue.
phys_autoweld- Okay theres only 1 real use for this, don't use it with any objects except ragdolls..This basicly automaticly glues stuff ON contact, meaning it will be pretty unelaborate and crude...So don't do it unless your having serious problems timing things or you don't care.
Now your physcannon also has a handy dandy button called "c" basicly this will change the modes...
Fixed mode- Fixed, rigged, unmoving ((Default))
Ball and stick- Okay imagine that the glue is a ball...Basicly its like a axis where you can rotate objects on, usually the small object is the one your rotate, this is really handy for cannister fun.
Rope mode- Imagine tying stuff together, thats what ya get.
Now for cannisters
ent_create_cannister <Power -10,000-10,000> <time , 0 is all that is needed usually since that is infinite(( I think))>
Now Usually the optimal settins are ((-2000))-((2000)), if you wanna make a space ship go for 4000-6000((neg or pos)), 10,000 will lag the shat out of you but if you want to risk a crash go ahead.
Okay I hit all the high points, I will do something more elaborate tommorow perhaps.

Edit: ah yes to activate cannisters press v , to deactivate press b. Have fun.
 
If you're having trouble spawning the phsygun via "give weapon_phsygun" in console then put in "sv_cheats 1" and then "impulse 101". It should give it to you along with all the other weapons.

CookieCuttah, I thought setting the time to 0 would make it infinite too, but it didn't work. You can always shoot the cap again to start it over.

Really? I tried it by shooting the cap with the physgun but it didn't move, so maybe I just didn't hit it at a good spot, oh well.

I have screenies with me though (a bit watermarked ;(). They aren't really of inventions but I did use the physgun in some of them. The ship in the screens has a thruster on the back that you can trigger by pressing a button.

Sorry for the crappy screens, that car is fully controllablie with the ability to turn on the zombie smashing mechnism which spins around like crazy which i build ontop, its very amusing to play around with :bounce:
 
Hey Psychanalysis05%, is your sig from Invader Zim? I LOVE THAT SHOW! It got cancelled, though. They spent to much money on special effects I think.
 
this question may of been answeard before but i have yet to see it, i know some people are having the same issue so yeah.

phys_gun entity not found, yes, i have instelled correctly, and i can load levels and everything else fine so its not a general installation error. What do/can i do? obviously loading phys_cannon deosnt help as its normal and phys_gun gives an error. I really want to play this mod!


also, where can i get the biulding blocks level from?
 
King John, it's weapon_physgun, not phys_gun. Also, if you're playing the building blocks maps, one of the spawning things should give you the physgun.

yeah i knew it was weapon_physgun, just saving space :)

this might be a deeper problem than i thought, i tried just getting the blue physgun early game by loading the citadel levels then loading trainstation, turns out i get the same issue when loading phys_gun, whats wrong with my hl2?
