Well? does anybody know? Hah :D

I have one tip: keep trying.

Lol!

Well uh, yeah.. I guess that works.

I've just killed off all previous installs.. Deleted the reg keys the directories et al and rebooted/installed again with the CS/HL steam package.

Which is working Ok so far. *touch wood* As long as the steam servers see fit to sign me in (about 2 out of 10 times). ;)

I just let it sit there constantly. And sometimes stuff happens.

Worked!!! I'm back in business! w00t! Thanks sporky :D

I deleted every valve, steam, cstrike key that was relevant to steam, reinstalled using the 370MB steam install and voilà : )

you people that don't know how to work steam are idiots

right now the steam servers are bogged down....

i know that sounds harsh but you all expect everything to work perfectly...when HL2 comes out there will be some bugs that 0.001% of people that bought the game have and it will end up being an issue on their computer

Thank you for the insight!

But no there are other problems that are not related to content servers; it's not flawless you know.

I formatted my computer a couple of hours ago and installed Steam. It runs perfectly now :)
